I don't think I ovulate the majority of cycles

I got pg with ds on the 6th month of ttc . I was using opks for those months and only on the month I conceived did I get a positive opk .

Now we are ttc again and first month of ttc and no positive opk .

I know it's only the first month but because of last time I'm wondering if I rarely ovulate. Is this possible ?

Am I being daft and impatient ? with this shameless bump as well

I dont think the opk are very reliable. Lots of people on here saying they conceived on months when they had no positive opk.
Ewcm is a more reliable sign as is mittelschmertz.

Thanks . I don't really get EWCM either (or maybe I'm not very good at spotting it, I just look for a line or a circle and I always only have a line)

I also have a lot of facial hair and I'm on long term topical antibiotics for acne so I've always thought I maybe have high levels of testosterone . I'm always intending to get to my GP about it then mention the ovulation thing in addition , but I'm never hairy enough to go because I have it threaded weekly . Sorry massive tangent there

maya it sounds like you may have polycystic ovaries. You need to go to the GP and tell them what is going on. You need blood tests and an ultrasound for diagnosis. Does your cervix change at all? As that can be a good indicator for ovulation as well.

Just a note if you are on minocycline for acne or any tetracycline you need to stop them! They can cause foetal deformities and can not be taken when TTC.

I have PCOS, terrible acne, horrendous body hair, very heavy periods and hadn't been ovulating, I had false +ve OPKs because I have too much hormone floating around.

I never get positive opks (barring a clear blue smiley one once!) and never get ewcm either. I'm currently 33+3 pregnant though

I use OPK's and don't find they are always accurate. I also don't want to faff around with thermometers. However as we do home artificial insemination, we use OPK's and use a speculum to look at my cervix at my OS. If your partner didn't fancy looking for you, you can always use a mirror.
