BBT can I use an ordinary digital thermometer?

Thought I'd chart temps this month chiefly so I can tell when Af is coming so I don't keep thinking I'm pregnant in the 2 days before my period.

I've got a boots digital thermometer, will this do?

No, it has to be a digital thermometer which can read 2 decimal places, they aren't very expensive on amazon.

But on another note the temp may drop the day before AF or on the day it is coming so you wont know much in advance, it is best used to show when you ovulated, as you will see a shift in temps, therefore you will know how long your LP is and when to expect a BFP or AF.

Only has to be 1 decimal place in Fahrenheit. I found my regular thermometer was accurate enough.

Thanks, I have done it before when using fam to avoid pregnancy, just wondered if I should get a new one.

I use a 0.1 accuracy thermometer and it's fine. My temp tends to go up 0.4 ish after ovulation and my app has no trouble noticing.
