is it normal to spot slightly with a coil in? I dont want to be too graphic but i have a heavy clear discharge with tiny smears of fresh red blood in it. any clues before i start to panic and get the health encyclopedia out???!!! Its been happening for about 5 days and im mid cycle by the way. xxxxxx

How long have you had the coil and is it the first time it's happened?

don't even get me started on bloody coils!!!!!!!
I didn't stop bleeding (heavy some days...spotting on other days) for the entire 7 months I had one in (and two actually worked their way out!)
I have now given up!!!!!!!!

Anyway...I think the general rule is to give them about 6 weeks to settle...and if you still bleed then it isn't suiting you...

THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW THAT 7 MONTHS LATER MR DOCTOR MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
