My DIL wants to start a family next year and is very worried because she is 5 stone overweight, she wanted to know if she would have complications. Her own Mother died a long time ago hence asking me. I do worry about her weight but she does not seem to have any health issues at the moment so what should I say or do to help her.

It might be sensible for her to gave a chat with her GP about weight management and trying to shift the weight before ttc. One other issue is that the clarity of antenatal tests may be reduced although some hospitals have specialist ultrasound machines for larger women

Thank you I was beginning to think no-one on here had had any concerns about this.
