Which way round are First Response tests

Does anyone know which way round the First Response lines are. is it pregnancy first, control 2nd or other way round? Or can it differ?

I've got a BFP (after 3 years of IVF - hallelujah!) but I had issues over the weekend with my hormone patches and I'm now very scared. So I've taken a 2nd test. The first test, first line was really thick, second line thick but not lighter than 1st.

This test, the first line is again really think but the second line is fainter. The picture certainly seems to say that the first line is the one I need to concentrate on and that would be great as that's staying strong. If it's the 2nd one, I'm going to panic some more!

Can you post a photo?
As long as you have 2 visible lives within the timeframe, it's very likely to be a positive!
You mentioned hormones patches, but that is unlikely to interfere with an accurate result aren't they?

The line closest to the wick that soaks up the urine is the test (pregnancy) line, the line closest to the handle is the control line.

If you have two lines, that's positive, no matter how light. It sounds like your control line is getting lighter which is normal, as the test line (pregnant line) gets stronger it leaves less dye to colour the control line.

Massive congratulations!!

Thank you Rikalaily.

I was just worried having finally got this far that I had messed things up by missing medication. I was away without a spare when my patch fell off and I didn't get a fresh one on for 8 hours.

I'm feeling horrendously sick this morning though and if the patch falling off was going to do any harm, it would have done it by now. Never been so glad to feel awful! :)

I posted on here a few weeks ago confused as the control line was very faint on mine though the pregnant one really dark. Someone explained this can happen if you have high levels of hcg as the ink in the test is mostly used up by the pregnant line. In my case I was about seven weeks pregnant when I took the test so that would be why- for you you took the second test after a few days so you would have had more hcg. As long as you have the two lines all is good I think. Congratulations.
