The Rules of Bumsnet

You can shag, you can syringe, you can temp, you can OPK; as long as your aim is a BFP!

We're cliquey so fuck off. LPB will be annihilated.

Sending hugs your way Lucie. I really can't imagine the pain you must be going through but it has touched me and also many on here. Please look after yourselves.

spinningirl10 · 01/05/2015 12:18

Lucie, it wasn't you that upset me, just the low motility and the word infertile when i goggled! I appreciated the honest feedback. I always think it's better to know the bottom line and know what you're facing. If dp's results aren't improved then we will talk seriously about Czech.
It's good to hear you thinking about trying again. Keeping believing it will happen for you. Maybe your Mum could go with you next time? I'm sure you'd feel ok being there on your own though as you've been through the process once and know what to expect.

loopylou1984 · 01/05/2015 12:33

Thanks Woolly, I was ok until I just called to make my HyCoSy appointment and got told the next one available that fits with my cycle is 7th September. Now I'm sitting in my car in tears trying to pull myself together to go back to the office.
I check the private price, and it's £450 :(. She said I could probably have it done next week if we paid. It's so unfair.
She was lovely and said to call back each month as you never know if there will be a cancellation, or new appointments added.... But I won't hold my breath. Looks like we have another 4 month wait. Xx

ThePug · 01/05/2015 12:45

Goodness sammy that is such a long wait. Would you miss the £450? Obviously it is a lot of money to spend on something you could get for free but how much would it impact your life not having that money in your account vs waiting 4 months for the test? Can you weigh up being £110 a month worse off against another (potential) month of waiting?

I've done a lot of the waiting to stop crying before going into a public place thing the last week too and it sucks. Take as much time as you need, put a fake smile on your face and try to be brave Flowers

auxiliaryauroch · 01/05/2015 12:54

Hi all still on hols but phone connected en route to manor house history trip so am peeking in. And xposting with update. Looks like my soy foray indeed brought forward a positive opk by four days and ovulation by six days from cd25 to cd19. I am now 7 dpo and no AF yet which is an improvement on my five day LP for the last four cycles. I'm xf that I make it to 9dpo at least! That would be unbelievably awesome. Sorry for no comments on other posts right now. All Me me me. Will catch up next week when home again. Flowers

DizzyMerry · 01/05/2015 12:57

Oh Sammy that really sucks. I second the advice given by Pug advice. Granted it is a lot of money but you need to weigh up whether you do want to wait so long for this test or would you rather get it over and done with next week? It would put you at ease to get it done quickly but that's a decision you need to make.

I have also cried endless times when we were going through treatment previously as each appointment and the endless waiting was such a blow. Take care of yourself Flowers

spinningirl10 · 01/05/2015 12:58

Aux, yay for earlier ov and extended lpGrin hope you're having a lovely holiday.

Pug, would you mind the others knowing about your mc? It may be good for you to talk to someone in real life as they could offer support. Hope you enjoy your evening.

Mummyofonesofar · 01/05/2015 12:59

sammy what a terrible wait! Can't you go out of area to somewhere with a shorter waiting list for it? Those private costs are expensive but if you could afford it, it may be worth doing so you don't have to wait 4 months. Sending hugs

spinningirl10 · 01/05/2015 13:00

Sammy, goodness things happen so fast when you pay! 4 months is quite some time to wait, I would be tempted to pay for it if you can stretch to it.

Sparkly123 · 01/05/2015 13:03

Nomio girl, how's things today? Any word from hosp? How's pain? Really hoping you are doing a little betterFlowers

Eskimo hope HSG is going ok, thinking of you Flowers

Sammy Rainy and Nomio .. Yes! Look at choppers here, I mean, I've only been on the buses seven months but I've heard Vic be up and down like you all.. And look at her now.. Just about to start iui but got her BFP instead! It's amazing how life works sometimes. Never lose sight of the outcome.. It will happen for all of you, I know unless we are in your shoes we can't possibly imagine how you are feeling so... Chops is a great example! In fact, I say we all bow down to her! Ha ha Wink

Sammy sorry for AF but yes! For HSG (fancy one..!) you may get moved up that list lovely.. It could totally happen! Fingers crossed for you. Re your chart- some people have a steady drop before AF, some people drop only on the day and some have really low temps for a couple days before, I've seen all these instances and read about it so don't worry.Sorry you feel so low, you are obviously a wonderful wife, and your dh is still there trying to isn't he. You are doing absolutely everything you can and I honestly feel that soon your time is coming.. Things are moving now. Hold onto that lovely. Sending Flowershope you can do something nice this weekend

Pikz hope you have improved again today?
Flowers
Spinners thanks for checking on me. Sorry you had a bad night, your mind must have been in overdrive poor thing.who can give you advice on this? Didn't Heirtotheiron dh have 0%?! Obviously it can happen!! And like you say, you conceived before in 2012. Keep the faith, but obviously you need more information on it all. Hope today's sample goes well Flowers

Hold on- Yokyil !!! I'm just catching up and see your sly little comment!!! BFP!!! So happy for you!!!!! Congrats! Good going! StarStarStar

Night glad the infection is clearing. Hope you are feeling stronger now.Cake

Oyster is getting married Tomor is she not?!! Where are ya!? I mean, surely you have absolutely nothing to do ...?!? Ha ha. Sending love to you bride to be! Flowers

Lucie my lovely. I'm so so sorry. You must be utterly devastated and deflated. I know how much was pinned on this and the journey you went to get to this point. You know me, I want to hold onto hope for you and stay positive , I want to believe for you that you could be a late BFPer. Who is to say you are not? But I don't want to make you feel worse either.. So I'll just say, you have come so far and been so strong to get to where you are.. I know you won't give up yet. I don't know what the statistics are but know of many who have had failed first try's and gone on to have healthy babies on the next.. I know right now that will be no consolation too, but when you feel able to , you must hold on to the positives from the clinic- the quality you got was good in the end and they were pleased with everything. So it may just not have been the one, for reasons no one will know. But I have every faith for you you are going to get there. I know you believed it was going to work this time- and I don't think you can beat yourself up over that, after all if you don't hold faith and belief then what's the point. Once this raw period is over I know you will be planning next try. Just let yourself feel what you feel, we are all human after all. I'm sorry there's nothing any of us can say to make this better for you, but we are all here to support you alwaysFlowersFlowersFlowers

Pug hi lovely, glad you don't have a dvt! I had a small clot once and it wasn't fun! Hope the strain eases soon though. I hope you will be able to have some enjoyment and normality from your evening out, I guess it depends what you feel is best.. Whether you want them to know or not. Whatever you feel comfortable with. Been thinking of you lots and sending Flowersto you

Juney you workaholic! Get yourself a day off pal! (And a date Wink )

DaisyDuckSW15 · 01/05/2015 13:11

Writing this while sitting in my school staff room watching one of my colleagues have her baby shower as her maternity leave starts. Another colleague, currently on maternity leave, has brought her 3 month old baby girl in.
It's all lovely but I'm sure I'm turning green with envy.
The only thing that's keeping me going is that I got the Solid Smiley this morning. We DTD last night and planning more this evening!

Sparkly123 · 01/05/2015 13:12

Sammy just saw your update! Ok. Let's look at this - august was gonna be a stretch for you I think.. You could use this £450 and a, have some answers b, get a miracle post HSG BFP c, have no answers and maybe no BFP next cycle. BUT... You will have the information. You will have ruled out the last possibility and I honestly think the knowledge of that will help you too. Waiting until September is a long time when you have been waiting this long. Even if you could find a way to pay up the 450 it may not feel so bad? I don't mean to sway you one way but I just hear you, and I can see from the outside how hard that wait could be. Yes you could get a cancellation, but you also may not.. And that turmoil every cycle isn't good either. My advice would be to do it. Get it done now this cycle, have the info and move forward. You have waited long enough. Flowers

If you decide not to do it I shall easily prepare an argument for that too! Wink

DaisyDuckSW15 · 01/05/2015 13:13

Pikz · 01/05/2015 13:13

sammy so sorry lovely. It's tough.

oh lucie I don't know what to say. I so desperately wanted that bfp for you and your DH. I can not imagine how aweful a bfn now would be.

daisy how rubbish for you. I hate the whole baby at work thing. Should be one place where you get a break.

purds how did the chat go?

To everyone else - sorry if I missed updates. Still not feeling well but back at work. We also have high maintenance visitors for the long weekend. Gah.

Hairstylisttoboris · 01/05/2015 13:24

Oh and I have dildo cam appt for next Friday. Over the wrong end of the damn county but somehow I'll get there

spinningirl10 · 01/05/2015 13:25

Daisy, that sounds tough! But yay for solid smiley, it'll be your turn soon.

Sparkly, thank you. Dp's sperm is clearly the reason I'm not pregnant. I think it's him that needs reflexology and needles stuck in himGrin We'll
plod on though and reassess the situation when we get the next set of results in a couple of weeks. Maybe some relaxing in the sunshine will do the trickSmile

Sparkly123 · 01/05/2015 13:32

Spinning yep get that man to reflexology!!!

Boris I'm so sorry you are still feeling unwell! Urgh! High maintenance Visitors not what you need! Glad you have dildo app not so glad it's miles away!

Sparkly, how was your scan? We are all desperate for your newsSmile

Mummyofonesofar · 01/05/2015 13:39

Sparkly stop ignoring the requests for an update! How was the scan lovely!?

Sparkly123 · 01/05/2015 13:39

No Pikz I didn't update! I felt I wanted to reply to everyone and feel so sad for Lucie. I don't like it when so many of us having a rough time then I have to come on with my news! But yes I know you all want to know so here goes-

There's a heartbeat. A real life proper heartbeat! Today's scan showed the fetal pole and the heartbeat flickering away! She said it's strong and not in any way worrying as it's not light or weak/fluttery so that's a good sign. Measures only 4mm! There's no evidence around the sac of bleeding or anywhere in the uterus so it's remaining a mystery. She said to monitor it and if it gets heavy again to go to hospital. Her view on the pain is that it's due to my existing uterus/pelvic problems and that the normal pain for some people is severe for me, a bit like the way my periods are. So. That's that ladies. I can't get my head round it all!!! Dh and I walked out in total disbelief! We got given a scan photo and I have my first app with midwife on 22nd May. Until then, monitor things and it's in the "lap of the gods" she said! Bravo Trunchbull . Grin
