The Rules of Bumsnet

You can shag, you can syringe, you can temp, you can OPK; as long as your aim is a BFP!

We're cliquey so fuck off. LPB will be annihilated.

Dizzymerry thanks lovely. How are you doing now?Brew

Daisy hope you have a nice weekend away sure you will manage to sneak some dtd in! Some people don't get many flashing before solid so you never know when peak will pop up! Smile

Rainy thank you. What's happening today then? Any sign? I think day two should be fine for bloods. That's happened to me a few times- my dates fell over weekend so had to choose fri/mon bloods and have always been told a day out should be okFlowers

Pikz so good to hear you are a little improved!! Finally! And cd 6 too.. That's good going so you have a week or so until OV then! Take care of yourself though in the meantime! Oh and thank you for your words Flowers

Dizzynorth I know, I think we all expect early preg to be exciting don't we? And I think first time round it was.. I'm sure it is for lots of people! It's just a lottery really if you have issues! Queenb sorry you are feeling low. Yes! Make may your month! Throw everything at it!!! And if you have to miss June because you are away.. So worst case scenario- you miss june.. You will be away and back ready to go before you know it. Don't give up hope! For now- focus on May! Go!!oh and yes I'm with you- hurry the f Star up Friday!! Mummy oh thank you! How's things with you?exciting having new wheels!Smile

Rice Urgh why are these doctors like this? The care should be the same no matter if it is a male or female doctor.. I hope you get some help from this other one! So sorry for infection too!Flowers

Sunny that's ridiculous. Honestly! Totally should have complained about that!Angry

Purdita hope the grind is ok today.. And Tomor will make things clearer! It's almost your weekend! Smile

SunnyStriker · 30/04/2015 12:32

pixa you will be missed. Take care of yourself, do lots of things that make you happy and come back whenever you feel ready Flowers

Was it spinning that was waiting for oh to propose?? Oh said last year 'shall we get get hitched love' I told him to get a ring and do a proper proposal and he had a deal. I'm still bloody waiting!!

How are you today sparkly ? Not long until your scan. Hopefully you'll be able to relax a bit afterwards.

Sparkly123 · 30/04/2015 12:38

Sunny put your foot down woman and get that ring! Ha ha. He's obviously hoping to do it when you least expect it! I'm feeling pretty rubbish but thanks for asking! Ha. Flowers But at least not long to go now, just need to keep sane today and put up with these pains

DizzyMerry · 30/04/2015 12:48

Feeling much better now sparkly thanks for asking. I have been temping and ovulation has been confirmed but Dr Purdie pointed out I ovulated on the same day as a positive opk! What's that all about?! So timings haven't been right. Oh well at least I am ovulating. Sorry to waffle on just needed to get that off my chest! Sorry you've not been feeling too good. Not long to go now and I hope tomorrow brings you good news and reassurance.

SunnyStriker · 30/04/2015 12:48

I actually think he's completely forgotten that he even mentioned it sparkly ! I was really looking forward to wedding planning too Hmm
I'm so sorry you're feeling rubbish. Are you being looked after? Waited on had and foot? I hope so Flowers

I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday and my op is scheduled for the next few weeks. I'm kinda hoping that will invoke the law of sod and I'll get my bfp first Smile also got a few days away with the family at the end of may so I don't want it to clash with that either although I really need to have it done asap ..... oh well. What will be will be

Sparkly123 · 30/04/2015 12:55

Dizzymerry those OPKs eh! Hey at least you know you OV same day so you can dtd as the line gets darker before positive! I'm two or three days after positive OPK! Thank you, not long you are right

Sunny yes at night time! During day when dh is at work is a little tough at the mo but I'll cope! That's good news things are rolling about op...be good to get it over with! Of get a BFP before of course!!My friend who is waiting on same op goes in next Friday for hers.she got just over a weeks notice!

DizzyMerry · 30/04/2015 12:57

My line doesn't get darker sparkly Sad I either get a positive or a negative. I only have a positive for one day!

DizzyNorthernBird · 30/04/2015 13:14

dizzym ff has pinpointed ov for me on the same day as a positive opk too! Although I'd had one the day before as well. Even if you did just miss out this time around, at least you know you're ovulating now and when. I'm feeling good about this month for the same reason as last month really threw me and left me wondering if I was ovulating at all. At least we know when to concentrate our efforts now!

riceicle your doctor is a twat. The nhs is a twat. Bloody budgets and figures. It must cost next to nothing for a blood test. Remind them you pay your NI! So what if you have kids already, it's not for them to control whether you can have more. Grr.

That worries me that does, slightly different, but I seem to remember someone saying on here that their DH couldn't get an SA because he already has kids......so if DP and I don't conceive would this mean he wouldn't get tests because he has kids from a previous relationship? How is that fair?! I'd never want to be like the U.S but there is something to be said for private healthcare. You get what you pay for. Rant over.

tessiegirl · 30/04/2015 13:41

Hello everyone, I am feeling proud of myself as I had my first ever blood test this morning - slightly sad for a 31 year old but I am Smile!!

Oh Sparkly your scan is tomorrow? Will you still have the one next Friday as I thought we had one booked for the same day? Enjoying being home still, DH flies back to UK today and we have our Cotswolds mini break next week to look forward to...

night sorry about water infection - they are horrible Sad

Mummy love the sound of your new car!! Lovely!! Grin

Rainy34 · 30/04/2015 13:46

pixa totally understand that you need a break from ttc, take care of yourself

Well af has turned up , last month I was 28 day cycle and as it looked like I was ovulating a day earlier I thought it would be due yesterday but this month is another 28 day cycle which I am pleased about as I think the evening primrose oil is helping to lengthen my cycle, I was really emotional yesterday and down about it but I feel ok today , just trying to stay positive

How are you feelingSparkly?
I won't be on much tonight as I have a meeting but I will tomorrow have a look back and post to everyone

Sparkly123 · 30/04/2015 14:00

Dizzymerry so you get nothing - straight to positive?! Have you tried CB ones???

Dizzynorth I don't understand that at all, it seems unfair. I hear what you are saying. In some ways I feel so lucky to have the NHS as believe me, I have used the service so much over the years.. But in times I have gone private you just notice such a difference and sometimes when I look at the way things go In America- especially in reference to fertility- I think they are on the ball with all that! But then, who could afford it!

Tessie glad you are having a lovely time! I've had a scan last Friday which was too early to show if things progressing well. We saw a gestational sac and yolk sac. So fertility nurse said to go in Tomor.. I don't know what's gonna happen obviously, need to see what tomorrow throws up, then I'll know where I'm at if I still need the next Fridays scan or not. Fingers crossed. I'll still hold your hand either way! Wink

Sparkly123 · 30/04/2015 14:05

Rainy girl , so sorry that stupid AF had turned up! Dragon but.... Glad your cycles are getting better.. Plus.. You are now out of limbo! This is all good!! Grin positive steps. I know you have had these down days, totally natural. Just hope you will feel a bit better next couple days and be ready to move forward knowing your cycle is in a better rhythm! Sending so many positive vibes to you for this next cycle! You are another one closer to your baby, that is something to smile about FlowersStarFlowers

DizzyMerry · 30/04/2015 15:06

Yes dizzy at least we know now and will be able to time our efforts better around ov.

Rainy sorry AF has turned up after playing hide and seek Angry but pleased you're feeling positive today. New cycle, new hope Flowers

Sparkly yes straight to a positive and a smiley for one day only. I use the ic and cb opks but not the cb dual hormone ones. Maybe that's what I need to be using?

Sparkly123 · 30/04/2015 15:14

Dizzymerry I just wonder whether you should try the dual hormone to see if you get flashing smiles which would help time dtd.. Given that they pick up a different hormone might be worth a shot?

purdiepie · 30/04/2015 15:24

Dizzy, I couldn't have nhs ivf because dh already has a child from a previous relationship.

DizzyNorthernBird · 30/04/2015 17:34

Ah. So no ivf for me then purdie if it came to it Sad. I mean, how is that fair? I don't have a child of my own.......his children aren't my children, I can go for weeks without seeing them! It's not right.

Mummyofonesofar · 30/04/2015 18:08

dparkly I am good thanks! Had a boring staff day today but I survived

tessie I love the car - it has a leather steering wheel AND buttons on it! But it locks the doors at 25mph which is annoying at school pick up when DS tries to jump in back can't until o find the button!!

Mummyofonesofar · 30/04/2015 18:09

DizzyN sorry if you have already but check with the CCG in your area. Each area has a different ivf policy

DizzyNorthernBird · 30/04/2015 18:34

Hopefully I wouldn't need to mummy, I'm just being generally ranty today!

loopylou1984 · 30/04/2015 18:52

Time for a major catch up!

Purdie - thank you for your post to me last night, I couldn't reply then as I was feeling too emotional and your post made me teary so I had to turn mumsnet off! I so appreciate your support Smile

Sparkly - I hope you're feeling a bit better today? Ah, not good I see :(
Fingers crossed for tomorrows scan for you. What 'should' you be able to see tomorrow?

Lucie - good idea not to test today, keep everything crossed for tomorrow for you!Hope you're okay?

Nomio - thank you, very much appreciated, I might take you up on that Smile

Rainy - has AF arrived? Ah I see she has, glad your out of limbo, but of course sorry that she arrived.

Pikz - Its stories like yours that make me wonder if we should pay for the HyCoSy sooner? Maybe it will be our miracle!

Queen - May will be the one! New cycle, new hope!

Dizzy - Woo for the TWW!!
And every area has different rules, so worth checking yours. Plus - how would they know? I mean, we've been asked, but they've just taken our word for it so far...do they do checks later on?

Mummyofone - I love my new 'grown-up' car! It has 5 doors and 5 seats unlike the old one! And electric windows, and air con! Lol, easily pleased!

Rice - that's ridiculous! You are entitled to investigations, just not treatment. Definitely go back and see the other doctor.

As for me, AF still hasn't arrived. I'm getting annoyed now as I have had 2 low-ish temps in a row, so I know I'm out - I wanted to book my HyCoSy today and now I can't!

Yokyil · 30/04/2015 18:58

Been a busy busy few days in work and coming home in the eves to fall asleep early Zzz!! Haven't got a proper catch up, but sparkly good luck for your scan tomorrow and sorry you've been feeling under the weather
lucie fx for your bfp!
purdie good luck with your meetings tomorrow, and they come up with the best plan for your own family life/sanity/heart strings and financially Smile
night boo to your water infection Sad I get frequent bouts of thrush - at least 4+ a year it's grim so can sympathise massively. Get plenty of fluids into you
rainy sorry AF has showed - but again at least you know where you are with your cycle no consolation I know
rice what a piece of turd, I'd go straight back to the female gp seeing as she okayed the bloods for you, bloody men gps with no notion of anything Angry
Not much of anything happening here - including AF, still no sign Confused have held off testing until tomorrow morning - keep peeing in the morning and don't wanna use later in the day wee Blush

Mummyofonesofar · 30/04/2015 19:46

DizzyN no you won't need it at all. Sorry you've had a rubbish day.

Sammy I've always had 5 seats & doors but the air con on my old car smelt funny lol. Glad you like your grown up car too!

spinningirl10 · 30/04/2015 19:55

Rice, I would definitely go back and see the female doc. They always seem far more sympathetic and more willing to offer help. Sorry your doc was so unhelpful.

Sunny, aww you should mention it to dp, maybe he thinks you're not fussed.

Sparkly, I'm ok thanks. Busy getting organised as we go away next week and I've had quite a lot to do. It's keeping me from symptom spotting which is goodSmile

Rainy, sorry af arrivedHmm good to hear the positive thinking. It'll be your turn soon.

Mummy, pleased you're enjoying the new carSmile

Sammy, hope af arrives for you. I'm the same, when I know it's coming I just want it here and to move on.

Yokyil, when will you poas?
