The Rules of Bumsnet

You can shag, you can syringe, you can temp, you can OPK; as long as your aim is a BFP!

We're cliquey so fuck off. LPB will be annihilated.

Make sure you're on the ###Bumsnet Bumstats###

Dizzy, I am pretty sure you have ovulated with all those signs. Have a night off!

cremedecacao · 28/04/2015 18:18

Nomio- I am reading this in bed! And I did cry a little bit!

You sound really poorly, hope you get the treatment you need soon.

loopylou1984 · 28/04/2015 18:25

Chops - You're totally right, its a wonder the human race has survived!

Purdie - I'm glad you've spoken to your boss, she sounds lovely :)

Heir - Wow, good thing you got pg before you got that result or you would have been panicking! That's good news for those of us with dhs with low morph scores though :)
Seriously though, try not to worry, so many things can affect the score...maybe these sperms were ones produced when he was ill or spending lots of time in a sauna. As Chops said, any duff sperm would not have fertilized your egg, so don't worry about that.

Nomio - I'd def get a 2nd opinion. Can you call 111? They will most likely get you seen tonight. if you cry they'll give you a 2 hour time slot instead of 4

Pixa · 28/04/2015 18:26

Hello all

Hope you are all well!

I will have a proper catch up with you all later on tonight :-)

loopylou1984 · 28/04/2015 18:29

As for me I'm pretty sure af is on her way... Really bad cramps on and off all day, sore boobs and a bfn this morning (I know, I know, 12dpo is too early), plus I'm feeling very emotional which is a sure fire sign!
I've had really sore nipples all week which is unusual for me so I'd let in a glimmer of hope :(. Silly me. Xx

DaisyDuckSW15 · 28/04/2015 18:29

Really struggling to keep up with the bus at the moment! But just wanted to pop on to say Purdie, do what feels right. Part time work that allows you to spend more time with your baby sounds like a good compromise.

And also big hugs to Boris; sounds like you're having a tough time at the moment. Hope you're okay xxx

Pikz · 28/04/2015 18:30

Afternoon. Am slowly returning from my bed and am now not infectious I don't think. Not back in work but was lovely to do the nursery run today.

Am so far behind I am not sure where to start!

Boris are you better yet?

Sparkly am crossing everything for Friday.

Purdie it is singly one of the most heart wrenching things to decide. I work part time as I couldn't bear not to have some time at home with ds. I worked 3 days a week from 1-2 and since he turned 2 I work 4 days. It works ok, is hard as I have to do everything at home and work but I juggle. You know what the right decision is for you.
I will say the first 6 months of going back to work were hell, and it's really tough after every holiday but it does get easier and I now enjoy my adult using my brain time.

Yokyil · 28/04/2015 18:30

creme sorry you're feeling so miserable - we're all allowed our moments, a pity party & then we pick ourselves up and know we just carry on. Hope you feel better soon Flowers
Nomio def get a 2nd opinion - you know yourself when something just isn't right. Fx you get some definitive answers
dizzy no chance the thermometer is on the fritz??

Nomio230 · 28/04/2015 18:31

Thanks for the tip, Sammy, I will give them a ring. DH should be home soon, so can drive me wherever I need to go.

Nomio230 · 28/04/2015 18:32

Creme, I hope you feel better soon. It sounds like you need a bit of looking after. Make DH be your slave for the night & bring you lots of chocolate! Flowers

spinningirl10 · 28/04/2015 18:59

Rainy, when is af due? Fx she stays away.

Yokyil, fx for you.

Purdie, power cuts seemed to be quite frequent in the good old days! I often remember sitting in candlelight as a child I feel so old!!

Sammy, it sounds like a good idea to get all the info, then you can make a decision.

Juney, have you decided to have Mr. Supersperm back?

Haha Chops, it's certainly easier for animalsGrin

Purdie, sounds like a positive meeting with your boss. I'm pleased you've given yourself a little more time to consider things. How did you get on today?

Chops, the eczema sounds awful on your eyelids. Can you not use anything to treat it?

Nomio, sorry you're still feeling poorly. I think you should go back to the doc if no improvement soonThanks

Dizzy, 4 days shagging is fantastic! Try not to be down, there's plenty of swimmers ready for that egg.

Oh Sammy, sorry for the bfn and the feeling that af is on her way, it's shit. Your time will come xx

Creme, sorry you're down. I hope
You're feeling brighter soonThanks

Sparkly, what a worry the spotting must be for you but you know everything was as it should be at the scan so all's good. Not too long till scan day nowSmile

I picked up the pot and leaflet from the clinic for dp's SA. It has to be done after 2 days abstaining and no longer than 7 days. Dp has to do his for 11am Friday so that will be 3 daysGrin

No sign of Lucie? I can't wait to hear how she's getting on!

What's everyone having to eat tonight? I had prawn salad.

DizzyMerry · 28/04/2015 19:10

Flowers for nomio, boris and creme. Hope you feel better soon.

Nomio good idea about calling 111. They'll give you good advice.

Spinning great news about the SA. Fx the results are all good.

Sparkly not too long to go now. Hope you're getting plenty of rest Flowers

I don't know what the hell is going on with my body. According to opk ovulation day was cd13 and today on cd16 I have loads of ewcm! I can't work my chart out either!!!

purdiepie · 28/04/2015 19:16

DizzyN, let's be rational about this - and believe in the science: most conceptions occur from sperm deposited the day before ov. Don't sweat it, my li'l law enforcement officer, you've done enough.

Creme, what a list of woes. Rotten. Here, have these Thanks They are for stuffing up your bum in case you get the squits

My Clearblue trial box arrived. What the frig? I only wanted some free sticks. Do they serious think I'm going to fill all this bollocks out and wee in pots and walk to t'post office and stuff? I have given everything bar the sticks to the nipper to play with.

cremedecacao · 28/04/2015 19:26

Thanks Purdie it was the opposite problem

Thanks everyone! I WAS feeling better until I got baby bombed whilst cooking dinner, a family baby bomb too!!! Oh well, congrats to them I suppose.

Sammy Flowers stupid AF making us feel miserable! Hurry up AF, do your worst so we can get on with it!

Rainy34 · 28/04/2015 19:30

Spinning Af is due tomorrow, I had a spot of red blood early on this afternoon it then stopped and went back to brown and then nothing, I have a pounding headache so i am wondering if she is around the corner

Yokyil · 28/04/2015 19:30

Purdie aren't you going to use the 'potty'? My friend seen it and couldn't stop laughing! It's some box of stuff just wanted the pee sticks

purdiepie · 28/04/2015 19:36

My meeting with the boss was a result of me almost walking out. I got into work at 9am exactly - on the dot. My manager said that, in future, I may want to consider catching an earlier train so that I can be at my desk and ready to work for 9am (I was hanging my coat up). Me: 'You're joking, right?' Her: 'Um..no. It's just that..erm..it really is important to have read and digested all the emails from overnight before you get going on the phones at 9am, so that you're au fait with any change in procedu...' Me: 'The earlier train is at 8am and gets me here for 8.20. Are you telling me I am expected to sit around for forty minutes before I am contracted to work?' Her: 'Well..yes. We all come in a few minutes before we are du...' Me: 'So you want me to leave my baby at 7.40am to catch a train that gets me in forty minutes earlier than my shift when I'm working for NO PAY and only get a half hour break? You want me to do that for eight weeks when I'm not getting paid??' Her: '.....um.....'

Me: '...because that's not going to happen. No way. No. I am already struggling to wave goodbye to my baby knowing I won't see her for over nine hours having earned no money. For the next seven weeks.'

I told her I was already unhappy with how the training was panning out; that I felt thick; that I miss my baby and DH; and that I do not think the job is going to be worth my while financially. This is when she called a meeting between us and her boss - who is just lovely and emailed me later on saying 'I don't want to lose you. You are doing brilliantly. You just need to believe in yourself.' He included a link to a site called 'entitled to' that works out whether you are financially better off working and coming off benefits. They just really made me feel stronger and more can-do about the whole thing. They are good, good people Smile

cremedecacao · 28/04/2015 19:41

Good! That sounds really positive Purdy Smile

Stick with it!

MelonMelon · 28/04/2015 19:41

Evening all. Just looking for some advice, got a GP appointment tomorrow and am planning to ask:

  1. Would scan in November have shown up PCOS
  2. Am I ok to take antihistamines
  3. Discuss cycles since miscarriage
  4. Ask what bloods in November were testing for and ask if day 3/21 can be done

Any other suggestions?

purdiepie · 28/04/2015 19:44

DizzyM, can I see your chart?

Creme, I am sick of my bowels. I hate them. I'm going to set my people on my large intestine and if that doesn't fuck those impacted turds over enough I'm going to kill their wives and kids.

Yokyil, I am just gutted that there is all this work to do. Forms, diaries, when do I shag, when do I bleed, did I have protected sex (you fucking what?! Yes, yes I did..when I was fucking nine) It's all too much. I have to read all the shite tonight, too, 'coz I am spotting as I type which means CD1 tomorrow. Harrumph!!

MelonMelon · 28/04/2015 19:45
  1. Also discuss negative OPKs
purdiepie · 28/04/2015 19:48

Melon, how about a sperm analysis for DH?

Eskimo, how is your lovely limping dog? Hope he's better.

Juney, yes, yes to temping around ov. We need to nail that blighter so that when you're ready to go again with ttc we can time insemination better. I'm not sure why I keep saying 'we' Hmm

Have an amazing holiday, gorgeous Glittery!

juneybean · 28/04/2015 19:49

spinning not at the moment no... Will reconsider in a few months.

Pikz, I was up with the tot from 2-4am last night. I just don't geddit. She was the funniest and most bounciest and most unbelievably energised than I've ever seen her. Not what you need at 2am. Can you suggest ways of doping babies that aren't dangerous? A blow to the head that won't hurt or leave marks? How much whisky can you give a one year old? Hmm
