Just wondering if any of the egg buddies are still around? Would love to hear from you.

Twinko! I had a girl nipper called Nancy who is almost 14 months old. We are trying naturally for another but with me being 43 with only one tube it's about as likely as Jihadi John leaving someone's head on.

Tame I'm so sorry for the failed donor rounds. How unbelievably cruel. I hope you get some real answers very soon. Will you report back?

Thanks

Awww, Twinklytits! What did you call your tot? Do you love being a mum? I'm bored out o' me head sometimes.

Twinklestar2 · 04/05/2015 19:14

I have sent you a PM!

I got your pm about your son's name. Good for you going with Englebert. So different! Grin

My favourite, favourite age for Nancy has been 3-9 months. Babies are boring as shit until then, but post-nine months they freak out with teething and perpetual colds and start signing what telly programme they want on! Ugh. The whining and whingeing and demanding! N is almost 14 months going on 14 Grin

I've gone back to work after eight years of idling; non stop mothering is tedious and hard. I love my tot more than chunky KitKats but there is a psychological limit to how many hours of baby groups and Ballamory one can take before lobbing oneself on the next plane to Syria.

No I am not! Filthy stinking tramps. I'm working in IT for the council. Miss Nancy like mad but it's worth it to get away from Mr Tumbles. Fat pervert.

Juicymassiveforcepsvagina · 29/05/2015 14:36

Two days ago, Tame! Natural conception with my one tube. And I'm nearly 44! HcG has double spectacularly and I have an eight wk scan on 24th June. Praise God!

tametortie · 29/05/2015 17:45

Oh juicy that's amazing!!! I'm so happy for you! I love love love stories of hope because I feel like where there is hope, there is a way. Even for those of us where it seems it will never happen.

Bet you never imagined you would have 2 under 2!!!!

Beetleandbug · 15/06/2015 22:32

Wow - so wonderful to see so many names from the past! I am so glad i found this thread! I started out as expatwifey back in spring 2013, and then progressed onto various forms of beetle.

I am sorry to read that some are still struggling on their journey's, i hope that the happy endings provide hope for those still fighting.

We have an 8 month old boy (6.5 corrected...he was keen to meet us!) conceived from our third round of IVF. I still find it hard to believe - it's very surreal.

Fabuluce · 07/07/2015 18:01

Squeeeeee - Egg Buddies are still alive and kicking! How lovely to find you :)

Tame, Dr Gorgy has a great reputation and along with my specialist George Ndukwe and Dr Taranissi is one of the specialists in the auto-immune infertility field. I would thorough recommend the testing and the drucks - 3rd time lucky with IVF and everything else thrown at it and I'm now 23 weeks diffed. It turns out I have high anti-ro antibodies (who knew??) and they are a bit pesky with fertility. I ended up having the least responsive round of the 3 in January with me responding poorly and DH having a bitch of a jizz sample and we had to do ICSI and only got 2 embryos which were transferred on day 2 so I wasn't holding out a whole lot of hope. Tested on day 16 only to have a BFN. The clinic said to keep on with the drucks and retest on day 19 and I got a BFP! Couldn't believe it. Turns out my HSG levels come up very low (on day 19 I had a blood test and it was 56 when normally it would be in the 300s) and that could also be one of my problems as the HSG level is one of the things that tells your body not to kill the interloper! Anyway the important thing is that even though they were super low they tripled over 2 days and somehow, defeated the odds to be exactly average on every single measurement at every appointment. Astounding! I ended up taking:
Before implantation: Dexamethasone and Aspirin along with all normal IVF drugs. 2 intralipid infusions
After implantation: Oestradiol, Progesterone and Clexane to 12 weeks, Prednisolone to 16 weeks and 3 more intralipid infusions.
Now I'm on aspirin again and throughout I've been on Pregnacare Max due to the MTHFR gene mutation meaning that I don't deal with Folic Acid properly.
Anti-Ro's still rearing their ugly head and may affect the baby's heart so I'm on weekly monitoring - can't complain as it means I get to listen to the baby every week which is very comforting.

I am so very grateful every day for this outcome. It took a long time before I allowed myself to get excited but as each week passes, the risks decrease so it becomes easier. I only allowed myself to buy my first item last week! I had made the decision that the 3rd time would be the last time as I'm 42 now so emotionally, physically and financially there was definitely a limit to how long we could continue so we are still amazed by it all.

I loved the Egg Buddies thread and was really sad when I couldn't find you guys for my last round so it's really good to catch up with you all. Congrats to all the lucky buddies who've managed to reach the Holy Grail and wishing you the best of luck to you amazing women who are yet to get there. Any baby would be lucky to have you as mums as you are all fighters and massively deserve it.
