Day 21 progesterone test

Hi, I'm new here and wondered if anyone had any experience of my situation? :)

I'm 29. My 31 yr old husband and I haven't used any contraception for over 3 years although we haven't been trying apart from the last few months where we have much more active leading up to ovulation on purpose.

I've had scans for PCOS which were negative and general hormone tests which were all fine a few years ago. I've moved a fair bit recently so no regular Dr and I saw a GP today (locum)who advised a day 21 blood test.

Thing is I ovulate day 24 normally and my last 4 cycles were 29, 33, 32 and 31 days long. Last month with the 29 day cycle I ovulated day 21. I did tell her this but she wasn't very helpful (although she was nice). I'd really like to be under the care of someone who knows what they're talking about. I have booked the blood test in but as its meant to detect for signs of ovulation surely it's a waste of time and won't help?

She's advised my husband go for a sperm test which he will book in although I think the nearest clinic is 23 miles away (I'm near Worthing, West Sussex).

Does anyone else have late ovulation and has had the progesterone test?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi....even though I'm not on this thread I didn't want to run, like you I've had day 3 and and 21 blood test.... And amh level blood test,I don't ovulate late in my cycle,I ovulate around day 12 my cycle is 25/26... Again I said this to my doctor who said it didn't matter I still need to have the progesterone test on day 21....my doctor said anything over 30 is a good sign , any thing under is not...last month mine was 16 to low to conceive so ask her again to do another 21 day blood test the following month, which came back as a whooping 80,which is excellent.....still not pregnant thoug
