Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

lil it's a private group I've left now. And you've listed my birthday there. I'd love it if I managed that, what with it being a possibility! I love being leap year baby, it's special.

fallenstar27 · 20/04/2015 17:54

Ooh thanks for the welcome totally but I've been here a while now Wink

I've been binging on eggs recently. They're protein right? I do love carbs too tho so I'll have to try and work on that.

Stoatystoat · 20/04/2015 17:54

honey I can't even fathom how that would work???the shape? Eh?

FeatheredTail · 20/04/2015 17:54

Good grief honey just opened that link on the train - my fellow commuter got an eyeful of the magic wand! Grin

fallenstar27 · 20/04/2015 17:55

Shock stoat that's fab, I've always wanted to meet someone with that birthday! When do you celebrate? And how many actual birthdays have you had (if that makes sense).

lildottie · 20/04/2015 17:56

its funny how we acquire these ideas and stereotypes isn't it! i wish I could go back in time and gave a word with my 27year old self about the realities of ttc! I was so naïve. I mean I understood ovulation and having to time sex despite what they teach you in school! but my god the stuff I didn't have a clue about and wasn't prepared for!

Stoatystoat · 20/04/2015 17:59

I celebrate on the 28th generally - when you're 8 and given the option, you want presents as early as possible, and now to me it makes most sense as I feel like a February girl. I also consider March 1st as my Boxing Day type thing. I seem to remember back in my youth having a 28th/29th/1st bender...now it just means doing something with my family like a meal and then a date with DH and it still feeling festive.

I have had 8 birthdays. On my 40th, I will be 10.

ValancyJane · 20/04/2015 18:10

Have been lurking for awhile, but thought I'd jump in and say hello as I feel I urgently need more people I can discuss EWCM with in my life! ;)

Name: Valancy
Age: 28
DCs: None, though one gorgeous cat (we figured we'd kept him alive and healthy with no major disasters, so could probably progress onto a child!)
TTC: Since December 2014

maemay · 20/04/2015 18:12

Totally that house is nice but having the bathroom downstairs would annoy me. I'm all for an extra loo downstairs, but main bathroom should be on the same floor as the bedrooms, surely?

The (v small) London flat that we're buying somehow has space for an ensuite! (Personally I'd rather have more storage space than an extra bathroom, but hey I'm not complaining too much!) The shower in the ensuite is one of those rainforest ones. DH has always wanted one of those and gets v excited when we stay in hotels with rainforest showers! It was like the cherry on the icing on the cake for us!
Might be a small flat and not have our own garden etc, but we're gunno enjoy that shower! possibly together Wink

Stoat DH and I talked about it and we did actually come to the conclusion that having a baby was more important to us than the time of year that it came. By that point though we'd missed the March window! So just decided we'd wait until my April cycle to start trying!
Fun that you're a Feb 29th bday!

maemay · 20/04/2015 18:14

Stoat imagine if you had your baby on a leap year Feb 29 too! That would be epic (but v difficult to plan -it would just have to be 'meant to be'!)

SockQueen · 20/04/2015 18:16

I'm kind of disappointed that baby dancing just means shagging - I used to think it was some kind of virtual fertility-encouraging, arm waving and chanting dance type thing. Shame.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 20/04/2015 18:30

Lil the children "helped" make them so they wanted to bring some to the other parents houses. ALSO we had a child free eve last night and needed to be sure we wouldn't be too fat and bloated to shag our brains out.Grin

fallenstar27 · 20/04/2015 18:39

Welcome valancy, we had same discussion re cat. Although dh once laughed when I failed to grow some herbs from seed and said he hoped it wasn't inductive of things to come.

fallenstar27 · 20/04/2015 18:40

indicative* clearly.

honeysucklejasmine · 20/04/2015 19:07

Stoat you don't need to aim with it, that's the beauty!

Welcome Valacy! We love a good mucus filled chat!

justtheonethen · 20/04/2015 19:19

Welcome newbies. Love the idea of an actual fertility dance! Possibly bare breasted and drifting incense!

Cd 11 here and weirdly devoid of ewcm, where is it?! Maybe I'll do that dance!

I love Parma violets and love hearts. Have just made mistake of trying galaxy's new salted caramel bar, delicious.

CountryGal4 · 20/04/2015 19:21

Welcome newbies.

Can anyone explain why on cd 7 onwards my skin had gone mental? This normally happens post ovulation dammit!!!

TotallyAnonymousUsername · 20/04/2015 19:24

Sorry fallen! I meant welcome to feathered! Surely this is a pregnancy symptom, baby brain maybe? Wink

mae I know, but that sort of house almost always has that sort of layout, and I don't think it would bother me too much.

Hobbit19 · 20/04/2015 19:38

Wow you lot have been busy today. Got out of bed last night to do the Fred (cats were not impressed) but clearly a good job that I did! Smile
Sock and Valancy, welcome to the crazy!
Stoat, seriously, a wand or a cbfm? There is no competition. (Just to be clear, get the wand!) And don't worry about long cycles, just keep shagging! We didn't dtd EOD as that would have been epic for 6 weeks straight but did it 2/3 times a week instead.

Re: food, I know I have posted this before but the Harvard Healthy Eating Triangle is awesome and fits with the less than 40% carbs, plenty of protein approach.

Re:Christmas babies, if my tiny Christmas pudding makes it all the way to his/her due date then I am considering allowing it an official birthday at some other point in the year. If it's good enough for the Queen, it's good enough for Jesus.

MyBlackCat

No DCs but a little black furbaby who is the love of my life
TTC since dec13 MC June 14. too long

Just caught up. CD4 for me and getting over this months disappointment, going contraband free. Stoat I found CBFM somewhat useful after MC but now my cycles have settled I'm going to save money and just shag instead.

Can't remember who mentioned the snack drawer at work, i have emergency crisps in mine but I ate them last week so need to replenish.

I got a new buzzy friend recently, it's difficult to turn off which can be awkward when going solo and getting caught in then act Wink

MyBlackCat · 20/04/2015 19:45

Oh and I'm not due a smear test for at least 2.5 years - I don't have to wait that long for my bfp do I?

LaLaLaaaa · 20/04/2015 19:45

Yay! Look at all the newbies! This is brilliant!

I need to do you a stats sheet. I'm on it. Stat.

Jcandy · 20/04/2015 20:01

Great new Fred Grin

Name: JC
Age: 30
TTC: 7 months since Aug 14 mc Nov 14
DC: currently upduffed with a peppercorn sized dc1

Welcome newbies and lurkers!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 20/04/2015 20:12

Welcome newbies!

For those talking CBFM, a friend of mine uses Persona, which is intended for birth control but performs the same functions. It isn't cheap but it is only £10 per month after you get set up.

For all you goddesses here is the recipe for [http://www.food.com/recipe/nigella-lawson-brownies-32053 Nigella Domestic Goddess Brownies]] warning, the Centre doesn't harden so they are best cooled and refrigerated. Hot it is like a giant melting GU pud. Next time I would reduce the sugar by at least half... Very sweet stuff. Excellent for breakfast with vanilla ice cream!
