FSH 14 and given clomid for 3 months

Im a MN newbie so I apologise for not using the correct acronyms.

At 35 years old and after TTC for 7 years, I've been prescribed clomid for a 3 month course. This did surprise me a little as my FSH level was 14 and I thought they'd want to get cracking with IVF straight away.

My consultant said that although the hormone level is a little high I have 13 follicles and he thinks that it would be worth taking a shot with clomid first.

I would love to hear your views and/or experiences in relation to my situation. I'm frantic for words of encouragement actually and any stories of success in similar situations. Of course I'd love to avoid IVF but should I be hopeful with the clomid?

Best of luck with your Clomid! I'm waiting to be prescribed in June. I hear it works for most people Smile. Great to hear you have so many follicles, I had 1 when I was scanned so sounds great news to me although don't know much about it. Good luck Flowers
