Ok, so 7 weeks ago I had a 'whoops' and had to take the morning after pill around the time I ovulated. Around 9-10 days after I had a bleed which I assumed was a period and shot off to the doctors for the depo the same day. Next day I had a small amount of blood and then nothing so I assumed it was the depo stopping my period. Anyway, got on with life up until Saturday when I started bleeding quite badly with horrendous cramping. It's been quite heavy and painful since with a few small clots. Obviously I know you can't diagnose me, but would you say this sounds like my period settling down from the depo or could the MAP have failed without my knowing? Is it worth booking in to the doctors?

Hi,
I haven't had the morning after for quite some years, but I remember having it when I was young and having a few irregular bleeds afterwards. One of which was really heavy with clotting and it was extremely painful! I went to see a nurse as I was so worried and she said said it was completely normal.
Contraception itself can cause irregular bleeding so I wouldn't worry too much. But if it is causing you great anxiety id say see your GP for peace of mind.

Ok thank you. If it doesn't settle down I'll pop and see the GP. x
