How long can a faint line be faint?!

Hello all
I'm looking for some advice.
I did a test on weds and got a very very faint bfp. Have had incredibly sore boobs and nipples for about a week so thought all was looking good. Did another test fri afternoon also very faint bfp and another this morning with fmu, also very faint bfp.my boobs have now stopped hurting and although it sounds weird, I no longer 'feel' pregnant. What do you think, pregnant or just a chemical pregnancy? How long do lines stay faint for??! No bleeding yet x no darker.

How many days DPO are you? If very early it could stay quite faint I think.

lentilsoup21 · 11/04/2015 20:08

Ooh yes forgot to say that. I'm 17dpo. Cycles still settling down after coming off mini pill but I would have expected af 3-4 days ago...

Hmmm if you are a bit late then it could be a chemical pregnancy Sad (I had one two cycles ago so I can empathise with how crushing it is) but until your period comes you are pregnant I guess.. Try and give it a couple days and test again?

lentilsoup21 · 11/04/2015 20:21

Hmm, that's what I thought. Somehow you know deep down. Did you have a faint line for a few days too? I've got one preg test left so will try and hold off and see what happens in next few days. It does feel very cruel to have that glimmer of hope..:-(

I had a very faint line on a FRER the day my period was due and this faded to nothing over course of two days.

It's so harsh!

BUT you could also have ovulated later than you think / taken longer to implant.

lentilsoup21 · 11/04/2015 21:01

Thanks biscuits. You're right, it's so harsh. This is only cycle 2 of ttc but it took us a year to conceive ds and I remember the frustration month after month. A chemical pregnancy just seems so unfair!
Did it take very long for your af to start after the lines disappeared? I may test tomorrow...

POAS again this morning, also a faint second line. Im so confused! Five days and line still faint. Boobs not achey anymore but nipples are a little sensitive. Shouldn't this line be getting darker if I'm pg? Has anyone had a bfp and the line has stayed faint?! Losing my mind, just wanna know one way or the other!!

I had a chemical pregnancy last year and had faint lines for more than a week. AF showed up 10 days after the first faint bfp but I still had enough hormones to register on a blood test (albeit a very low level).

Hoping for better news for you OP Flowers

littlemiss06 · 12/04/2015 13:49

I had faint tests until 19 dpo and thought it was chemical, left testing for a few days and then when i was a week and a day late i got a brilliant strong positive on frer, currently 7 wk and 4 days :) goodluck

littlemiss06 · 12/04/2015 13:54

This was 19 dpo so you can see how faint it is, then got the frer at 8 days late

what tests are you using? i tested with internet cheapies this time and had feint lines for a good few days i wasnt very impressed with them. had a feint line on ic and a cb digi telling me 2-3 wks pg on the same day. invest in a cb digi if you can.

littlemiss06 · 12/04/2015 14:26

I agree with gingerbread, the ic cheapies took till about 6 weeks to show up really dark, a first response or cb digital might be better

WindMeUpAndLetMeGo · 12/04/2015 15:33

All of my tests were very faint, depends on your body chemistry. Also if you dink a lot to help you pee it will be fainter.

Hope it works out for you

WindMeUpAndLetMeGo · 12/04/2015 15:33

*drink - not dink!

Brooke113 · 12/04/2015 16:02

Little Miss- that first response doesn't look faint at all to me :)

littlemiss06 · 12/04/2015 16:43

No Brooke that was my first proper dark :)

lentilsoup21 · 12/04/2015 16:56

Thanks all, really interesting to hear the different experiences. I've been using the wilko freedom tests, don't know how they compare? Will try and get a clear blue test tomorrow, good suggestion. Will try and hold off testing tomo and then see what Tuesday brings. Really appreciate your replies xx

So sorry for the mistake, think all this ttc is turning my brain to mush!

littlemiss06 · 12/04/2015 18:04

Hey no worries Hun :) was just showing the difference a few days makes and a different test

gingerbreadmam · 12/04/2015 18:24

Heres mine just for info. The green one i did the same day as the cb digi. I kept using the ic's after that and they took a long time to get dark and dont think they were ever as dark as the control line. Good luck!

Thanks gingerbread, I think my lines have been a similar faintness to yours! Reassuring to see they haven't darkened super quickly. I'm clinging on to positive stories at the mo! Will update in a few days when hopefully know more x

Crazy to think the green test was done on the same day as a cb digi test! Will go and buy one tomo x

will kp my fingers crossed. yhe blue end tests were asda ones which i found to be good. those ones were 2 / 3 days before af was due Blush

butterflyFairy1 · 14/04/2015 23:01

Any update OP? X

lentilsoup21 · 15/04/2015 06:35

Another line with fmu this morning but slightly darker (maybe half the darkness of the control line?).....eek?! No af yet so I'm keeping everything crossed. Hoping to get to the shops today to get a clear blue test. Does anyone know, If I go the docs to get a test should I book a nurse appt if they're gonna take blood or will the docs do that? Think maybe I want confirmation from my gp cos I still feel uncertain about it. All my symptoms have still gone...
