Ten days coffee that is one mega shag fest which isn't even over yet Shock well done and I'll be needing tips from you!

I'll be cutting down on the sugar as I can't cut it out altogether so may as well be realistic.

beezlebop · 14/04/2015 01:17

Hello everybody, I'm new so hope you don't mind if I have got the lingo. I'm 40, this is cycle 2 ttc number 4 with a gap of 7 years. Hello and wish me luck!

coffeenut · 14/04/2015 01:26

hi merry hope you've had a chance to think things through and work out a plan of action that will work for you. Getting everything you can from the NHS sounds like a good start x

Getting some serious ov pains ... am wondering if I will actually ov today like FF thinks. Temp dropped a little this morning but nothing major. So shagfest may be over soon! Just reading on another conception thread that a little red wine may help implantation. Wondering if this is a myth (hopefully not!!). Drinking a little coffee this cycle as was miserable without last cycle and all for nothing.

HI beezlebop and welcome! You are a brave lady going for number 4! Smile

DizzyMerry · 14/04/2015 02:00

Coffee we have decided to take the NHS route first. Will hopefully see my GP tomorrow as will my DH to get the referral sorted. I'm with you on the all for nothing and refuse now to completely go without. Cut down yes but not deprive myself of anything! Ov pains sound promising so it should be imminent.

Hello and welcome beezlebop. How exciting to be ttc #4. I would have loved four but will be lucky to conceive my second at this rate!

coffeenut · 14/04/2015 05:03

merry lovely, you'll get your second (and isn't your chance of having multiples higher when you're on clomid? Wink)

NicNak22 · 14/04/2015 06:03

Thanks dizzyN GOOD LUCK for you this month too

chopsface · 14/04/2015 06:51

Decided last night that these aren't the same as af cramps. Its a prickly pain instead of throbbing pain. Woken up feeling sick and have a blocked ear fmu stashed in a cupboard looking suspiciously like lucozade original

Hope you're all ok guys, sorry I'm too excited/bricking it to reply individually!

loopylou1984 · 14/04/2015 06:57

Chops use the fmu! At least you'll know then even if it's bad news, plus you might just get your miracle! Xx

Pikz · 14/04/2015 07:02

Chops chops just do the test!

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/04/2015 07:20

chops are you due to test?

dizzym I had a panic last month when I didn't appear to ov and I googled like crazy looking for reasons why (hypochondriac Wink ). I'm sure you know this already but cutting down on sugar can help with thyroid health which in turn restores any imbalances which affect the endocrine system.

I'm convinced sugar is the root of all evil. But can I get off the stuff?! Nope. Also in turn if you've ever suspected a food intolerance, eating foods that don't agree with you can cause a leaky gut allowing toxins to leach out into the blood stream, which also knocks the endocrine system out of kilter.

I'm trying as much as possible to adopt the attitude of my body being like a car or a machine - you wouldn't put the wrong fuel in a car or low grade shitty oil as this will cause big problems: why would the body be any different! Of course it's easier said than done, my lunch yesterday was a greggs pasty followed by half a bag of maoam stripes. Small steps Smile

beezlebop welcome

coffee my other vice is tea. I've had to switch to drinking mainly decaf all day! Good luck On the seduction work!

chopsface · 14/04/2015 07:33

I'm 16/17dpo and I don't own a test! Need to go out and get one, hence stashing pee in a cupboard. My friend ordered me to go to 24hour Tesco last night but I'm too lazy! Already put pj's on when got in from work doesnt stop most of the chavs round 'ere going to Tesco convinced it will still be bfn. This is too unreal!

loopylou1984 · 14/04/2015 07:37

24 hour tesco? Why aren't you there now??! Lol. Xx

Hairstylisttoboris · 14/04/2015 07:38

Welcome beezle let us know if we can translate the daft lingo. Baby 4! Wow! I'm impressed :) did you conceive your others quickly? Any wisdom for us?
Morning everyone else in just facing my morning coffee. I've otherwuse cut out caffine thanks to reading the studies posted by Purdue but I can't give up completely as I don't know how long my journey will take. For similar reasons I'm struggling to give up wine....
Happy Tuesday everyone and happy birthday chops.

Mumof1sofar · 14/04/2015 07:43

Welcome beezle & best of luck Smile

Chops buy a test!

Ugh I woke up from a terrifying nightmare this morning that my dc was snatched from me! Horrible! Confused

Sakura03 · 14/04/2015 07:47

Good morning ladies, I fell off the previous bus but really want to try and keep up with this one! I think AF is due tomorrow as cycle's been 26 days for a while (although last one was only 23 daysConfused I think my body was playing trick with me as I was having day 2 bloods done which then ended up being day 5. I did a Cbdpt this morning -BFN, so I suppose I'm out right Sad?

I will read back tonight and get to know you all, don't just want to come on here for advice and be all about me.

I rejoined slimming world last night (made a gorgeous chocolate Guinness cake at the weekend as a "final" treat, and NO I didnt have it all to myself, some might think so, since the need to join slimming worldGrin, but I've got a holiday coming up in 6 weeks time.

Have a lovely day!

CarrotVan · 14/04/2015 07:55

pokes head round door All calm and happy? Excellent.

How very exciting chops. Will there be a live action stick dip? Fingers crossed

Congratulations to those with BFPs - so nice to have good news

I'm supposed to ov today. MrVan has bronchitis but we managed Saturday (twice) and yesterday. This was the cycle I conceived on last time so it feels quite significant even if it is only cycle 2. At least I'll be on holiday for much of the tww

MissMartin1992 · 14/04/2015 08:00

read about some peoples charts..i dont have any type of chart im new to all this ttc stuff its only my second cycle trying.. i only have have opks and then i keep a calender on my phone and take pictures of them. Should i buy a chart? or is there anything else i should be doing? i just seem to be dtd everyday and hoping for the best atm WinkBlush also any recommendations for any vitamins i should be taking? I'm only having folic acid at the moment... Thanks ladies x Grin x

tessiegirl · 14/04/2015 08:19

Good luck chops! Grin

chopsface · 14/04/2015 08:21

Hi Martin you can get period tracking apps for your phone I hear fertility friend and ovia mentioned a lot. When people talk about charting its usually coz they are taking their basal body temp each morning which indicates when you have ovd and when af is impending! I don't do this but there will be plenty of advice from others should you decide on this route!

Hairstylisttoboris · 14/04/2015 08:46

missmartin I have used most of the period tracker apps! My Days is basic but stopped working on me after 3 months. Ovia is user friendly but never predicts my fertile period correctly but it's a nice app to start tracking your cycles just work out your own fertile window. Fertility friend us the monster app - good if you temp (basal body temps - I don't do this but many women do) and can produce lovely charts. I've settled in glow with for now is working well for me!
Do check the small print on the apps, some ask for permission to read your data, access email and photos and learn alot about you.

nightandthelight · 14/04/2015 08:53

Just POAS already chops!

Welcome beezlebop :)

I feel that I should become Dizzynight in acknowledgement of our cycle bond this month Dizzy and Merry!

coffeenut · 14/04/2015 08:55

chops!!!!!!! you're killing me Wink

Martin, fertility friend is free. You can record opk results, temperature, when you dtd, ov pains etc (and then create a chart if you wish). If you provide enough info it may be able to pinpoint your fertile period/ovulation so you know when to dtd (unless you are crazy like my dh and decide you need to dtd all month long... sigh). I started with opks the first cycle and then last two cycles started taking my temp (so as to get a better idea of when I ovulate). There's lots of info on fertility friend if you want to take a look.

dizzy I neeeed the caffeine part of the coffee though.

night please don't, my blonde brain may implode.

carrot yes all calm. yay for a hol during the tww!

CarrotVan · 14/04/2015 08:58

MissMartin - there are loads of pre-natal vitamins that have the folic acid and everything else you need. Pregnacare is very expensive but highly recommended and there are different versions for conception, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. Or you could take Pregnacare Original throughout.

I've used Sainsburys own brand and Sanatogen - both fine

I'm currently on Seven Seas and it's got a slightly higher iron content so make me want to throw up a lot. Once I've finished this pack I'll change back to one of the others.

It's well worth taking advantage of 3 for 2 offers or cheap online deals. They all seem to be massive caplets

I was recommended to take vitamin D, calcium, B complex and folic acid if I didn't take all in one vitamins. Just folic acid is fine for conception but when you start growing a baby you might want some of the others to avoid getting deficient yourself

I don't chart properly - just track my cycle so I have a rough idea of my fertile period and use Fertility Friend and a very basic ipad app called Cycles. They give quite different suggested dates based on the same information...

pinningwobble · 14/04/2015 09:35

Welcome Sakura and Beezle!

Miss Martin just do what works for you. I like to temp as it's the only thing that tells you 100 per cent when you're ovulating and I would worry I wasn't otherwise (another hypochondriac here!) OPKs can sometimes be misleading as you can get an LH surge and not actually ovulate. Likewise with CM, you can get egg white and not actually ovulate, it's just your body will try to gear up to do it and thus produce the signs. But as you're early on ttc I should think it's time to rely on those signs for now. I am just a control freak :)

Speaking of charts, I'm very proud of mine this month:

chopsface aka victoria401 35 today ttc#1 cycle 30 BFP April 14th 2015!!

Pos opk cd12, dtd cd11 and 13 only! Only thing I did differently was orgasm after sex after dh had passed out which I'd NEVER done before. Cramping since Friday evening so thought I was out. Zero spotting which is unusual for me. Felt lightheaded yesterday at 15/16dpo and nauseous this morning.

Just called the clinic to announce we no longer need their services! Sorry for the me post!
