Got home from work today to find a letter from the fertility clinic. First appointment - what should I expect?

Hi salad have you already had any tests at all? Some places (like mine) the GP sends you for all the tests and then send you to the fertility clinic. And some places just refer you to the fertility clinic and they perform the tests.

My GP did my day 21 and day 3 bloods, sent dh off for a sperm analysis, sent me off for an ultrasound. After around 8 or 9 months completing all these tests I was sent to the clinic. We had loads of paperwork to fill out before our 1st appointment about medical and family history etc. The first appointment for us was seeing the nurse. She went through all our results with us and asked questions. She said the only thing I was missing was a HSG so she said to book it for my next cycle and then see the fertility consultant after that. So I went for my HSG and then we saw the consultant. As we had already been ttc 2 years and had all the tests completed we were offered fertility treatment straight away!

You will have to check your local authority to see if you qualify for NHS fertility treatment if that's the road you might be headed. They have different criteria like age, BMI, existing children, time ttc etc. It also depends on your diagnosis. What is your story hun?
