Hi everyone, i stopped taking my pill in oct 14 to start ttc . Since then i have had very abnormal menstrual bleeds and some discomfort pain in my lower abdomen. I went to the drs last week who have called me today to tell me i have BV. I had heard of this but never knew much about it so i looked it up. Whilst reading i came across pelvic inflammatory diseas (PID) which has got me worried a little bit now with my pain in the lower abdomen and sometimes whilst having intercourse. Does anyone know (whos had BV or PID) whether the same test is done to find out if you have BV or PID?

Well BV is unpleasant but it can go away on its own. Where you swabbed at the gps?

Personally from what you've described I would go to the clinic for a full sexual health screen. If you have something like chlamydia it can eventually turn into the symptoms you're describing (been there) and then onto PID which is really nasty.

Tbh if you're ttc I would go and get screened anyway to make sure your sexual health is fine.

If you do take the treatment for the BV try and wrangle the cream you insert at night. Those antibiotics are evil things.
