Hi.

I'm five days late, so tested this morning... We can see very faint lines (I think) BUT I have recently been told I have a large cyst on one of my ovaries and I've researched that this can give pregnancy symptoms and a false reading.

Any advice appreciated, exciting but obviously don't want to get our hopes up as been trying for six months x

I think both tests are positive it's more clear to me on the blue one. Congratulations!

Schoolaroundthecorner · 04/04/2015 08:37

Yes those look positive to me, a day or two more and it should be really obvious. Congrats OP!

Allstoppedup · 04/04/2015 08:37

Definitely lines.

It's rare for a cyst to cause a false positive but it can happen in some cases.

Still, that is very rare, generally a positive is a positive and if your cycle has been typically regular despite the cyst, I'd be surprised that this would be the first symptom. Congratulations!

I can see lines in all three pics, which is unusual as I'm a rubbish line spotter.

Congratulations, and best wishes for a happy & healthy pregnancy Smile

Thank you do much for your replies!

Since coming off the contraceptive implant My cycles have been a regular 26 days.

I will buy a couple of different brands today and test again!

I hope it's a true pregnancy as that would make us so happy!!!!! X

I'd say definite line - more of a line than the first test I did with my DD, think I did one a day then for about a week!

Fingers crossed for you OP.

louisejxxx · 04/04/2015 09:01

Looks like a line to me too, good luck with your further tests today x

Helloall1 · 04/04/2015 09:05

Hopefully the Dr will refer you for an early scan to confirm generally they are fairly rubbish at your first appointment and rarely do much other than ask you if you've done a test then set you up with a midwife appointment!

I say your chances of being pregnant are very high though!Wink

Good luck with everything! Grin

Helloall1 · 04/04/2015 18:48

Thank you! X

I'm due to have another scan to check the cyst, do you think / know if they will still need to check the cyst? They mentioned if it increased in size I may need surgery, which is worrying me.

But I'm trying to remain calm until I manage to speak with a doctor.

X

hello

Obviously can't speak for your case but I have/had ovarian cysts (some fairly large) and it didn't cause any problems during my pregnancies.

Obviously your Dr is aware of the cyst and will keep an eye on it for you, it might mean more scans. They will be able to advise you but I would imagine providing its no risk to the pregnancy, they would just pop any surgery back until you had given birth.

Hope all is well! I'm sure it will be fine. X

Hello everyone, just to update my situation; I've been to see the doctor and they didn't suggest a urine or blood test to confirm pregnancy they just referred me to a midwife and said they will be in touch in two weeks......is this usual practice?!?

I was hoping to get some sort of concrete evidence, which I know may sound silly but the lines on tests are so faint I just want some reassurance.

I hope everyone is well x

When i saw the gp after poas she asked how late was my period(late enough), what test did i use, and then said that nowadays tests are very reliable, so i was refered to the mw. I too was expecting another test, so i had a private blood test for peace of mind.
