does one born every minute petrifies me

I'm TTC #1.. Never been pregnant before so have no experience regarding pregnancy birth ect ect.. i always watch one born when its on and i must admit it scares me so much that sometimes it puts me off having a baby some ladies are in soo much pain!!.. with that said i know your probably thinking.. dont watch it then but i feel i need to know what is going to happen. my mum had me, my brother and sister on just gas and air and my step mum had my sister on just 2 paracetamol and you don't really ever see that on one born it always looks traumatic .. does this programme intrigue and scare anyone as much as me hehe? ?

OP, OBEM terrifies me but not as much as MN does!! OBEM is generally only about the births - all the stuff on MN about what comes AFTER the birth scares me even more!! And yet I am still TTC #1...damn the urge to procreate

I love a bit of OBEM, always have - long before ttc, when broody, when ttc and now (incubating a seed). I think it's reasonably educational and good preparation to see the range of births, outcomes and journeys people have been on. Just have to bear in mind that they probably tend to show a higher proportion of "interesting" births than you'd see in real life. e.g. occasionally they squeeze more births in an episode if one of them is 'easy/simple'
I feel it's helping me feel prepared and aware of the options; can't promise I'll feel the same when I'm (hopefully) 39+ weeks!!!

aww congratulations! i need to stop being a wetty hehe .. ive never had a blood test either so its not like i dont know they hurt! my mum loves giving blood and stuff! im to soft.. just watched obem actually. . through my fingers .. all those cute babies! why cant a stork drop us one off each on our doorsteps
