Confusing Ovulation Test :(

Hi all!

TTC#1 after having Mirena coil for near on 5 years.

Anyway, last cycle I started using the Clearblue Ovulation test - Dual Hormone Indicator.

It has different symbols for low fertility, high fertility & peak fertility and is supposed to pin point your 4 most fertile days. I used it last cycle and it did what it said, I started testing on around day 11 and I think on day 12 I had High Fertility and on day 13 I was at Peak fertility. All normal. Unfortunately no BFP Sad

I've used the same tests again this cycle, again testing from around day 11, and for the past 5 days it has show that I am at high fertility, but never peak fertility. Has anyone else has this with these tests? Is this normal? This is only my second cycle so I'm still new to all this TTC stuff so any advice would be really appreciated.

TIA xx

Hi
That does sound confusing, sorry I can't offer too much advice except maybe you are just going to ovulate later this month?
I started with the clearblue OPKs last month and got 7 flashing smileys before my peak (also sadly no BFP at the end of it) and am due to start testing again tomorrow.
Maybe keep testing for now - I think the leaflet says stop testing if you get 9 flashing smileys in a row.
Fingers crossed for you - maybe it'll be peak tomorrow

Hi - i have just had the same. Flashing high fertility smileys then back to nothing with no peak. I usually ovulate on day 12.

Had some abdominal twinges today (day 15) so did another test and I'm back to flashing high fertility. Weird.

I think it can be easy to miss ovulation unless you test 2 or 3 times a day. Did you have any other signs?

That's normal, some women get one day of high fertility, some get 6 or 7 before they get their peak. It all depends on the hormone and how quickly it rises.

Thank you :)

I'll give it a few more days and if I don't get a solid peak smiley then I'll just start over next month.

On with the TTC journey!!
