Thanks dizzym I hope so.

Sorry to bore you all with this , but I've just done another comparison test, this time after being up and about, loading washing machine, emptying dish washer, making bed, showering and dressing etc. on the old thermometer I was still reading 36.67, new one had shot up to 36.84! Which is what you'd expect after doing some activity. I'm feeling much happier now that I've just unfortunately wasted two months charting with a duff thermometer and the new one will chart much more accurately. The old one for some reason seems to only ever read between 36.65-36.78 throughout the month?! No wonder ff couldn't identify ovulation! Although I'm still wondering if I did just have an anovulatory cycle due to my lack of post ov symptoms. Or it's just all in my head Grin Confused

TheMshipIsBack · 07/04/2015 12:16

tessiegirl cramping can be a good sign sometimes, I think maybe it goes with implantation? Other ladies here will know more than me. I had 2 weeks of mild cramps with my last pregnancy starting from af expected date, and similar this time. Thought for sure I wasn't pregnant.

MalibuDaisy · 07/04/2015 12:40

Thanks coffee and woolly have procured an OPK now, I have no idea what to do with it! But will get it out and look at the instructions later. At least that will give me something to obsess over focus on. I may end up testing again in a few days if AF stops before the end of the day - probably silly to keep hoping but it's hard to let go of the idea that it might just happen. Stupid, messed up cycle, if only AF could have just flipping waited and arrived on time! I can deal with disappointment that doesn't come with a question mark much better.

Southy sorry to hear that you got a BFN this morning too, agree that a holiday will help to lift your mood though - it always does that for me :) x

DizzyMerry · 07/04/2015 12:53

Malibu that's frustrating. Mother Nature can be so cruel. You're right to keep your eye on it as you know you're own body. Opks are easy to use. I just pee in a container and dip the stick in but yes, read the instructions and you'll be all clued up

tessiegirl · 07/04/2015 14:34

Oh Melon and Abi I feel for you guys, I really do. I hope you are out of limbo very soon Flowers

Dizzy same thing happened to me with a duff thermometer. Hope you have figured out the answer!!! Smile

Woolly84 · 07/04/2015 15:03

melon and abi how utterly frustrating, I really hope you know either way soon. I think you're wise in assuming not pregnant, though I'm obviously secretly rooting for a miracle late BFP for you both!! Smile

malibu good luck with the OPKs and damn AF for being so confusing! Mine is frustratingly slow to start since I started TTC....it's as if she knows and wants to torture me! Hmm

tessie yay for coming back to the UK! How exciting! This trip includes the Cotswolds visit right? Smile

auxiliaryauroch · 07/04/2015 16:28

southy we've all done that! The stupidly early desperation poas. You have my condolences.

NicNak22 · 07/04/2015 19:53

Ladies, how early have you known someone get a BFP?

I've seen a post on here -4 days before period due. Is it best to wait (if you can)

Woolly84 · 07/04/2015 20:11

niknac I think the earliest I've seen on these forums is about 11dpo so that's about -4 days I guess? I think the general advice is to wait until the day you're due/first day of missed AF....but of course that's easier said than done! I think the earliest i would test is the day before I'm due.
How many days to go for you?? X

nightandthelight · 07/04/2015 21:44

My equipment has arrived! Thanks for all the tips about the thermometer Dizzy :)

coffeenut · 07/04/2015 23:08

Mship congrats! That’s great for first cycle. I hope you have a healthy, easy pregnancy.
dizzy I love your geeky tests! Well done for figuring it out, I know it’s been stressful thinking something is not quite right
nik nak I got a bfp on a frer with DD2 a full 7 days before af was due. Didn’t get a bfp for dd1 until 2 days before period due (I didn’t track ovulation so maybe ov’d early with dd2 and late with dd1). I think waiting until the day of or day before you’re due is good advice though – it cuts down the possibility that you will get a false reading.
Yay for the delivery night; now hoping you wont need.
Off on beach hols today … with the inlaws (thankfully they don’t arrive until tomorrow)

Mumof1sofar · 07/04/2015 23:28

Congrats mship.

Coffee hope you have a fab holiday Smile

Dizzy how annoying with your duff thermometer Confused Glad you've sorted it now.

Sparkly123 · 08/04/2015 00:51

mumof1 wooo for positive OPK lovely!! The waiting was worth it!

aux really hope soy works for you !

malibu so sorry AF arrived. It is a rollercoaster you are right. Even in the early days. It's so hard at times. But so worth it all for us to get our BFPs.. That will come in time. Wish we knew when, but we will all get there. I really think OPKs are so helpful to pinpoint fertile time if you are not really using anything I would give them a go.

Southy so sorry for bfn. It's crushing. I always try to wait unless I have really good reason to think otherwise (which barely ever happens!) on the plus you have a lovely holiday to go on now which will hopefully rejuvenate you and distract you from all this TTC! Have a lovely time

MShip congrats on your BFP !

abi still no AF?! Sorry if you have been asked before.. Is your cycle usually 28 days??

Melon no wonder the app has thrown a strop. I am too!! Sorry lovely! Hope so much things get sorted one way or other soon. So hard for you!

Dizzynorth hurrah! You have a real proper bbter! Good news! And just shows you may have OVd after all! This is all good lovely. Time to get your BFP!

tessie sorry for cramps.. And snow!!! Almost time to come back though!! Exciting!

coffee hAve a great holiday!!

Illiria · 08/04/2015 04:15

tessiegirl - really love it, we are far enough north that the landscape is similar to home but warmer and less wet. I work at the same university as my husband, really nice students but the system is so different than the UK.

Woolly84 · 08/04/2015 06:12

Yay for the delivery night! Smile

Have a fab holiday coffeenut I'm very jealous Grin

sparkly and illiria hope you're both well?

Flashing smiley this morning, I usually get a peak the following day so fx I catch ovulation before I have to be away for a couple of nights early next week!!

MalibuDaisy · 08/04/2015 07:47

Thanks Dizzy and coffee Have decided this morning that AF is definitely just that - although she's lighter and earlier than normal she's not showing any signs of buggering off. It's good to know for sure though.

Been looking at the instructions for my OPKs and in one place it says to start testing 10 days after AF starts (my average cycle length is 27 days) and then in another place it says to do it 10 days after AF finishes! Argh!! Does anybody know which is correct? I think it must be the first one as I've never known anything to go from the END of an AF...

Mumof1sofar · 08/04/2015 07:53

Thanks sparkly GrinGrin

Woolly good luck catching ov, sounds like you're in with a good chance. Hope you don't have multiple flashing days like I did!

Malibu 10 days after af finishes would be too late for most people.

DizzyNorthernBird · 08/04/2015 08:05

Morning all!

Had such a crappy nights sleep, not sure whether it's the hangover from my night shifts or what but I had cramping in my back from AF, was too hot and couldn't get comfortable. Had just managed to drop off when DP's alarm went off. So I'm up at 07.00 on my day off lol.

illiria I also love California, I used to travel a lot with my old job and would stay in San Francisco and Pasadena regularly. Didn't generally venture too far out while I was there but I did once visit the Lake Tahoe area which was lovely. And that hippy place where everyone goes to retire, Palm Springs is it? I love the year round sunshine in that part of the world. Must try and save for a holiday over there, I miss it.

malibu which opks did you go for? I think with a 27 day cycle cd10 might be a good time to start testing although if you're using cheap ones maybe start cd8 just to be on the safe side as I know some people ov early with you length of cycle. Mine are around 33 days long though so I might not be the best person to answer that, I don't ov until cd20!!!

DizzyNorthernBird · 08/04/2015 08:06

woolly yay for flashing smiley! I want it to be that time of the month already....cd2 is the pits.

Hairstylisttoboris · 08/04/2015 08:37

abi and melon how are you both doing? I'm keeping everything crossed for you. X

MelonMelon · 08/04/2015 08:41

Hi Boris I'm struggling to be honest. Feeling very down today. My body is so broken and there's no medical reason why Sad

Southy84 · 08/04/2015 08:50

Morning sorry for going awol after my post yesterday, had a hectic day. wooly We're in Edinburgh :) looks like it's going to be a nice day!

Still no sign of AF and now cd34 (I'm not an early tester, I hate the feeling of seeing only one line). The only good thing with it being late is that I may get my day 6 bloods in this month. It will at least mean I'm back home in time to have them done and don't have to wait until the cycle after! Silver lining and all that I suppose!

coffee I am convinced AF is on her way, although been thinking that since at least Saturday! Maybe before (can't remember days seem to be merging into one)

malibu I totally agree that every month there will be something that makes you think this is the month, I know I do that too!

Congratulations theMship lovely news!

melon and abi totally feel your pain :( hurry up AF

Sending you hugs melon

Sorry for AF dizzy the new thermometer sounds promising though :) hopefully it will give you some good readings this month, don't feel bad about the past two months, see them as the practice run to your bfp :)

NicNak22 · 08/04/2015 09:01

woolly Monday should be the day Sad

coffee I've normally resisted temptation to test early except on valentines day when u was really convinced and thought it was a sign

I'm not holding out how this month, but have bought sticks to start testing ovulation next month. Any tips ladies?

Mumof1sofar · 08/04/2015 09:41

Southy when are you poas?

Nicnak which opk have you bought?

Southy84 · 08/04/2015 09:53

I did yesterday mumof1 not going to bother again, made me a bit down as got a bfn. Think I'll only bother if in a week there's still no sign of it
