Nomio230 · 01/04/2015 21:26

I manned up & did the deed! My bum is now on top of a pillow & DH has a smile on his face.

On the subject of the great popcorn debate, for me it has to be salted with melted butter poured over.

Oysterbabe · 01/04/2015 21:27

Melon I'd go for a cheapie in the morning.

The witch is really gunning for me this month, so heavy! Last month it was practically nothing and this month it's like that scene in the Shining when the blood pours out of the lift. I'm taking it as a sign that things are returning to normal after almost 2 decades on hormone contraceptives. My egg needs a nice bloody bed to nestle in.

Oysterbabe · 01/04/2015 21:27

Well done Nomio Smile
I agree on the popcorn too.

victoria401 · 01/04/2015 21:33

Hi sparkly! I've seen spinning on facebook, or as one if my mates said earlier "the book of faces"! Love it!

nightandthelight · 01/04/2015 21:36

Haven't been able to read all the posts but hope that all is well :)

Did see your comment sparkly about my underwear and chuckled muchly.

Just had a lovely date night with DH, dinner and a film and now he is offering dtd! Must be off Grin

spinningirl10 · 01/04/2015 21:38

Sparkly, I'm here, I've been hiding in the hanging Perspex chair in the zen den, is it safe to come out nowSmile How was your appointment??

Nomio, woohoo on the house, how exciting. Have you any work to do or is it all ready for you?

spinningirl10 · 01/04/2015 21:40

I think I missed the tooth/popcorn story Purdey, is the tooth out now?

Sparkly123 · 01/04/2015 21:41

I have literally sparkly bombed the thread! Sorry! It took me forever to catch up.. And I hope I haven't missed anyone! Hi to all!!

So my update on my app:

It was fine. Basically just talked through how I was getting on with the AI and if any success etc.
Purds you are gonna like this bit.. She told me she had three other patients this week who had got their BFPs using AI for a few months. So that's positive. AI works. One of her other patients has just had a baby whom... Wait for it.. Was 44. Had NEVER had sex before so was trying AI to conceive. And conceived.. FIRST CYCLE... I can imagine the names you are calling this woman right now Purds.. However, just goes to show eh.

So the app was fine. Although she disagreed with fertility clinics view about rushing to IVF etc.. She said given my health situation IVF could be very hard going for me as she says it is hard for someone who is healthy so she would worry about me in the process. She also said that she would def try a max of 12 months with the AI before looking at it as an option. Oh and she voiced her opinion on the way the clinic had dealt with some of the things in the app.. Ie the "we can't confirm you were ever pregnant" etc etc . She says she feels they are not looking at me as a whole person and says often in fertility clinics that can happen as it's just made into such a clinical process and she says it's important they take everything into consideration. She was great, but sadly I feel much the same about my fertility clinic after discussing with her.. A bit less confident in them.. And the next part was unfortunate timing but reinstated my frustration with them..

Had a call from clinic today whilst I was in the app so I rang back after, no answer. Left message. I was then on the rush hour train back from my app which takes one hour.. Phone rings and it's the fertility nurse. She said she was calling to let me know my HSG was good and my tubes are clear (wooo Easter Grin ) she then proceeded to say that she noticed I had been in ward 6 recently and asked what had happened.. I explained I was on a noisy train and could I return her call before the conversation went any further.. She has asked me to return the call tomorrow.

I couldn't work out what she meant, I didn't know what ward 6 was and I hadn't been in hospital as an inpatient for a while.. So I went online to my hospital website to find ward 6 was EPU.. The one I was in in January.. With the early mc! ... Now I may be over reacting as I'm exhausted and probably irrational but eh, hello? I sat with this nurse at the first fertility app six weeks ago... She had the report from ward six, she asked me in the same way then "oh I see you were In ward 6 recently what happened?".. My dh and I explained..THEN into the consultants room and she sat with us and the consultant and consultant asked the same so I had to go through it again. So this nurse, has been there both times.. It's in my notes.. But now she's asking me AGAIN?! She's forgotten? She's looked at the report and forgot to note on it that we have already discussed this twice? And it's now April?! Three months after the event? I don't get it. And I can't be bothered phoning her and going through it ALL AGAIN!!!!

Sorry. Had to get that out! Wink

spinningirl10 · 01/04/2015 21:51

Sparkly, she sounds very positive towards AI and that's understandable with 3 bfp's in one week and a 44 year old, yay for us oldiesSmile
The clinic don't sound very good or switched on, although it's great news that your scan results were all ok and much quicker than you had been led to believe. Anyway you won't be needing the ivf clinic because this is your monthSmile

frogbubbles · 01/04/2015 21:52

Thanks Eskimo, I know you said they gave you an inkling about things, but how long do you have to wait for an appointment with a doc, if you don't mind me asking if I'm being too nosy tell me to shut the hell up

Thanks Vic that makes sense, sounds like that's what will happen with me.

Sparkly she has had a good day! These little things make me smile. Yes!! Totally random of the nurse but hey she must have been excited bless her, I know if it were me I would probably be the same.

MarysPrayer · 01/04/2015 21:55

They sound incompetent sparkly. What's with the whole 'not believing we were ever pregnant' shit?! (sorry for swearing)

When I was miscarrying I was told that the reason they were taking my bloods was to see whether I had even been pregnant in the first place. Hmm It might sound like a harmless turn of phrase to them but it is so insensitive and hurtful. How dare they deny that little bean's existence and, effectively, call us liars?!

Sorry, had to have that little rant. As you were everyone.

MarysPrayer · 01/04/2015 21:57

On a much calmer note: thank you for all the lovely messages everyone Flowers

Oysterbabe · 01/04/2015 21:58

Enjoy Night Smile

Great that they were so positive about AI Sparkly !

Sparkly123 · 01/04/2015 21:58

Spinners yeh I know. I think this is the month right! I mean come on! Dtd and everything!!! Christmas babas! So you think I should enlighten the fertility nurse again Tomor? Or explain I've been through twice already!!

Sparkly123 · 01/04/2015 21:59

-never finished that. How you getting on with decorating!?

Sparkly123 · 01/04/2015 22:02

Marys agreed! At least they took your bloods! They refused mine at epu! So sorry you had such an upsetting experience. It's such a difficult time the last thing you need is that on top!!!Flowers

Sparkly123 · 01/04/2015 22:03

Oh and she also said she didn't think the position they asked of me in my HSG was right and would have caused more pain and discomfort... Eeek... Easter Shock

DizzyMerry · 01/04/2015 22:24

That would explain the pain then sparkly. I don't understand why they would do that?! The nurse on the other hand is just downright incompetent. She obviously has forgotten the conversation and if it was in your notes then she may not have bothered to read them, as happens sometimes. When I had my first lap the surgeon (who was my fertility specialist and did the op on me) came round to see me on the ward and asked why they operated on me Hmm. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. This was the man I was under the care of and saw him a good few times before the op!
I'm pleased that you got your results and all is well. Also positive outcomes from AI is great news. What is the plan now? Will you carry on with AI?

spinningirl10 · 01/04/2015 22:27

Sparkly, it looks like you'll have to go through it again sadly, I would start by telling her that you've already been through it twice, surely it should be in your notes?

Decorating's going ok thanks, well I've done the ceiling which is huge and a strange shape so that's the worst bit done. I've got rid of all the nicotine cobwebs and scrubbed the windows and frames so it's looking better already. Not sure when I'll get anymore done as I'm out all day tomorrow.

Sparkly123 · 01/04/2015 23:15

Dizzy are you serious?! Oh my Easter Shock how frustrating!! Yes plan is to stick to AI. However I have to call nurse back Tomor to discuss what consultant thinks for moving forward. Will report back!!

Spins wow sounds like you have done lots already!! Good work! Actual real brownie as a treat?! It's easter after all?! Easter GrinEaster GrinEaster GrinEaster GrinEaster Grin
