All ages and age gaps welcome!

I'm 29, have a 16mo DS, TTC since periods came back in July 2014, had a mc in Jan.

Anyone else?

My DD is 2 and hitting the stubborn stage! They ovulation strips are fab, if you're irregular like me they save so much stressing. The cheap ones where you get 50 for 6 pounds on ebay work really well. I know I was terrible for thinking I was pregnant all the time too. I chart now, because it helps me feel in control and as it confirms ovulation you feel so much better knowing it's definitely happening.

Whereabouts are you in your cycle? I'm 7dpo and I am proud to say I did not buy pregnancy tests in the supermarket today Grin

woundbobbin · 17/04/2015 20:12

Half way through the TWW cuppa hooray!
Welcome sponge.
I couldn't even contemplate another baby until dd was 2 - awful pregnancy birth and PND made it all a bit awful really. Dd is an absolute delight but doesn't sleep never has and that's hard. I really want another child but I fear the baby stage I really don't want PND again and would worry about the impact on dd and DH if I did.
I EBF for 13mths not through choice dd refused bottles - I was very nervy to feed in public so operated within a radius of home for ages coming home every time she needed feeding Confused it was restricting. There is so much guilt in parenting its sad really we should be more supportive of each other there is much less choice in how we feed that people like to speculate.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend planned we might have the 1st BBQ of the summer woo hoo!

Torfhinn · 17/04/2015 20:54

Evening all!

Welcome sponge Smile I'm afraid I've never used ovulating strips so can't be of help, but good luck with them.

Well done Cuppa for resisting the pregnancy tests!

I'm so sorry you had to suffer with PND Bobbin. The fear of the same thing happening again is always going to be there, but at least this time you are prepared for the possibility and can be alert against the signs and symptoms.

I think I have let go of most of the guilt about pregnancy/birth/BF/general crippling fear that you are messing your child up FOREVER, but the decision to definately try for number 2 is bringing a lot of the old emotions back up... I was so naiive TTC #1, now I know exactly what it coming Hmm

On a more positive note, I have started on the old folic acid and purchased some Preseed, so the TTC lark is getting really real Wink And it's my boy's birthday this weekend! Cake

As you can tell, I love emoticons Shock

CuppaSarah · 17/04/2015 21:39

Oooh loads of exciting weekends ahead! We were gonna go to the beach but its a bit too blowy here. Thinking farm park or woodland trail. I agree torf, I miss the nativity of my first pregnancy. Woundbobin I hope you don't get pnd again, hopefully it won't go that way again.

I'm totes not symptom spotting, but my boobs hurt so bad I'm in pain every step I take! They're all big and heavy too, they're normally bigger and sore this part of my cycle but it's very extreme this time round. If it's not pregnancy it must be the soyiso.

Avasmum8 · 18/04/2015 00:13

I deff do not think you should feel guilty about how your labour turned out! You can make all the plans you want to but ultimately your baby will determine how the labour is going to be..First babies are so unpredictable, and second babies tend to come much quicker.

Mrsmugoo my DD never took a bottle either, it was such a stress when she had to go to nursery she would just drink water and food until I finished, and was also very hard to wean off of the breast! I hope this one is different...

Avasmum8 · 18/04/2015 00:18

Cuppasarah what CD are you? That was one of my earliest signs, I usually get that a week before my period is due and it came on two weeks before and then just got worse, the day my period was due if I hadn't already known then I would have tested because it was so intense! Fingers crossed for you xx

CharChar2015 · 18/04/2015 02:41

Hey :) mumsnet newbie here! Smile
But I'd love to join you guys?
I'm 32... TTC #2 (DD is 18 months). I got pregnant first time with her and this is first cycle after a miscarriage in February at 9.5 weeks.
I could do with some company - in my coffee morn group there are 6 of us... 1 doesn't want any more kids and the other 4 are pregnant! And while obviously pleased for them... after my misc and back ttc again I feel quiet alone :(

I'm pretty sure I'm out this month - ovulated cd14... Bfn on cd27 with Fmu (so 13 dpo).... Still waiting for AF. I'm cd29 today but my usual cycle 28-32 days.
Used digital opk this morn but might temp too next month.

Hope you don't mind me hopping on board Blush

CuppaSarah · 18/04/2015 05:52

Hello charchar! More company is lovely! I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, it must be so tough being around pregnant friends so much. I heard somewhere 14dpo is the earliest most women get their bfp so theres still hope!

Hello again avasmum. How are you feeling? Also I normally have achey boobs straight after ovulation, but never this bad so hoping it's a sign. I've normally had period cramps by now which dosapear for a week, then AF appears unexpectedly. I have some pains, but they're different, think its grion strain from work tbh. Fingers crossed!!!

CuppaSarah · 18/04/2015 05:55

I forgot to mention, my temp shot up again the last two days it's the highest its ever been without me being I'll! Though I need to be cautiously optimistic, none of these things mean I'm pregnant. But I can hope.

Tangoandcreditcards · 18/04/2015 07:01

Hi can I join.

Bit late to the party but can I join please. You lot seem nice! Trying to TTC #2 DS is 14 mo and STILL doesn't sleep through (never has). But he's got 9 months to work on that if I fall pg straight away, right?

I'm on CD 21, not charting but sometimes get ov pains. Didn't this month but DTD mid month (not as much as we should, see non-sleeping baby issue above). So you never know.

I had a mc before DS and both times I didn't get BFP until CD 35 (oh, and I was testing, sometimes several times a day) so why oh why am I even thinking about POAS now ? I need help. Symptom spotting like crazy even though it's not v likely.

mrsmugoo · 18/04/2015 13:08

Welcome tango!

Really rooting for you Cuppa!

All quiet here. DH away so home alone with DS and I'm SO SICK! Throat infection from hell so symptom spotting is pretty far down my list of priorities at the moment :(

Luckily had my MIL over yesterday on her regular childcare day and I took a sickie but after she left I still had all the same old shit to deal with: toy explosion, obliterated kitchen, laundry mountain, bedtime routine etc...! And the whole lot starts again at 7am every morning. Just MNing in the bath now as DS has finally gone into one nap which means a lovely long break for me.

CuppaSarah · 18/04/2015 14:34

Hi tango lovely to have more company! A late bfp must be difficult to wait for!

Oh.mrsmugoo that sounds so miserable. It must be so tough on your own. Glad you had a sick day to rest a bit. My boob pain is gone, but the mega tits remain. I feel like a glamour model(minus the glamour plus a bit of wobble)

Ilikesponge123 · 18/04/2015 14:40

Thankyou torfin, woundbobbin your such lovely ladies :D
Cuppa Omg me and you are so alike! I need to try ovulation strips so I feel more in control

My pregnancy and birth we're so easy my DD was 1 month early and only 4 pounds. She's a happy baby slept through from early I EBF for 4 months as she Was never full.
I'm sorry to hear that woundbobbin
I have AL from work for 10 days so we should be ttc ;)
Getting few groin pains since few days so AF mayb?

Ilikesponge123 · 18/04/2015 14:42

ROFL cuppasarahGrin
You made me laugh

On way to my parents in B'ham woop!

Tangoandcreditcards · 18/04/2015 19:29

Thanks mugoo and cuppa

Poor mugoo rest easy with plenty of hot drinks. I hope the bath helped. I think my DS is a couple of months older than yours. I'd have started TTC much sooner if I could have but I wanted to get my feet back under the table at work a bit (DH is SAHD so need to be mindful of keeping my job secure!)

sponge bless your tiny little hungry DD!

I can be a maximum of 8 days DPO. Think I'm "in sync" with cuppa - I'm moving house on Fri (due AF next Sat) so going to try and hold off testing until the new house! (Even though it's not that likely I'm pg, and even if I am its not that likely I'll get a BFP that early, I'm STILL thinking about it. Smart lass, me...)

CuppaSarah · 18/04/2015 19:42

Eeek cycle buddies!!! My dh is a sahd too! Looking forward to having him for help this time round. Good luck.moving houses.

Ilikesponge123 · 18/04/2015 20:38

Tell me about it cuppasarahBlush
What's everyone up to tonightAwww tango :)
I'm here for moral support ladies- holla ;)
Omg tango I laugh about it now but it was so hard then o was nearly dying

At about 6 weeks old she had 7oz bottle I had no clue what to do and thought I should call hosp lmao.

What does DPO mean? And BFP? I'm new to all this

mrsmugoo · 18/04/2015 21:16

DPO is days post ovulation

BFP is BIG FAT POSITIVE, meaning pregnancy test Grin

Ilikesponge123 · 18/04/2015 21:47

Ohhh I see :)
Thank you mrsmugooSmile

CarrotPuff · 18/04/2015 21:52

Welcome newbies! Hands out Cake

Sorry for all the rough beginnings some of you had. I was quite lucky as I had very easy pregnancy and straightforward birth. Bfing was hard, in the early days I was in tears every time I could hear DS waking up, as that meant feeding Sad I was too stubborn to stop though, and I'm glad I didn't as it got so much easier... I've weaned off just a few weeks ago!

But I do agree that no one should be made guilty about any parenting choices. Even if you didn't bf because you just didn't want to, it's no one's fucking business. Your baby, your boobs, you decide. !

Started this month's shagathon yesterday. CD8 today... [yawn]

I never get painful boobs btw... They did hurt when I was pg, but only about 4 months in... Last month though I've noticed ovulation pains for the first time, so hopefully I'll recognise them again. But will mainly aim at shagging EOD...

CuppaSarah · 19/04/2015 06:01

10dpo and there's a second line...it's pink! It's very faint as you would expect for so early. I'm not celebrating yet, going to get some frer when the shops open. Gutted I threw my wee away this morning. This might be it.

CuppaSarah · 19/04/2015 06:03

Sorry, this is the best photo I could get.

TTC #2 - would anyone like to share the journey?
CuppaSarah · 19/04/2015 06:19

Last post I promise, but dh sees it!! It's a line!!!! I looked up my due date and its gone and been new years eve!!! New years eve!!! I was early last time so i might have a tiny little Christmas baby. Eeeeeeek

Tangoandcreditcards · 19/04/2015 07:13

cuppa - I see a line! Well done! How exciting. Yay.
(You're not helping me resist testing, feeling queasy this morning, but probably because I just had coffee on an empty stomach and have been up since 5)

Aw carrot thanks for the newbie cake - all that shagging is a chore! Grin I just don't seem to find the time (we're rarely in bed together thanks to DS) so this TTC #2 will take years of snatched sofa-shags at this rate.

I don't get sore boobs either. On account of mine being pure plastic. (Dbl mastectomy) so no early indicators for me there. Makes "feeding choices" a non-issue though.

diamondsparkles · 19/04/2015 07:29

Congratulations cuppa!! That's definitely a line. Happy and healthy 9 months to you, and what a fab edd !!
Sorry not been on much, cd4 here af got me again so been in a right grump
