Off the pill for 4 days

Hi all,
New here and have a quick question.

I've stopped the pill 4 days ago (mid-packet) and within 2 days, started having period pain, light spotting and tender breasts. I haven't had any period cramps for as long as I was on the pill and then bam, the usual belt of pain that reminds me of being a teenager...

I've looked online here and there. I know it's probably a silly question, but what is that spotting I've experienced? Surely that cannot be my period, can it? I do have all the symptoms but from what I read online, I thought the 1st real period post stopping the pill would not come until several weeks later.

Just wondering if anyone had the same symptoms within days of stopping contraception.

Thanks for your input,

Leslie

Totally normal - don't worry! It will be your period; the pills you might have previously taken for 'on' days are essentially nothing pills. You get your period because the normal cocktail of hormones isn't there.

thanks for your reply.

I was just finding it out odd to basically have 2 period within 3 weeks! My last period while on the pill started March 12th ended on the 16th. Took the pill on March 17th but stopped it on the 23rd. I figured I'd get some side effects but not a proper period so soon!
