TTC on ADs

Hello ladies. Looking for some advice. Was on 50mg sertraline last year for 6 months for my first episode of anxiety and depression. Hated taking meds so came off but it was too early and my anxiety problem reared its head again. Been back in 50mg sertraline for 6 weeks now and it's just starting to help with my anxiety now.
Really gutted as my Hubby and I had planned to start TTC our 1st this year but my doc says I should be on meds for 12 months this time and not to conceive while on meds. I've researched this and there's so much conflicting information! Does anyone have any personal experience? TIA x

Hi Belle,

Maybe try to get referred to a psychiatric service who specialises in ante/post-natal care. I have found that they tend to be more positive (and knowledgeable) about for TTC / pregnant women, that a happy and stable mum is better than a poorly mum. They are also far better informed with respect to how any drugs may affect pregnancy (I have found that Gps tend to have an overview but not a good in depth understanding).

Maybe try to speak to other GPs if possible and see who you feel is the most supportive in the path you want to take.

Good luck x
