Having a bad day - terrified of docs appt

Hi, first time posting. Some background. Had a MMC discovered at 12 weeks Oct 2014. First pregnancy and heart broken. Implant removed Oct 2012 in preparation for ttc. Started ttc properly Jan 2013 and it took 7 cycles to conceive the first time and now it's 7 cycles later and not yet pregnant. I know this isn't long compared to some poor people. Dr said to go back to them after 6 cycles if no joy. Got Drs on Weds afternoon. Petrified something is wrong and don't know what to expect. What happens at your first appt? Will they order blood tests? Any other tests? When they did my 12 week scan and confirmed the MMC they had a look all around my ovaries etc. Would they have said then if they had noticed anything? So worried. Trying not to as I know stress makes everything worse, but can't get it out of my mind. Any experiences and advice gratefully received.

No experince or wisdom to offer Pavot (only ttc since jan) but I'd imagine if they'd seen any physical signs in scans they would have dicsussed it. Hopefully they'll order some blood tests which will put your mind at rest. Just keep DTD and try to relax and look after yourself.

When you consider we only have 12 chances a year to conceive and various things can get in the way, it's no wonder (although no comfort either) that it takes a while

best of luck

Thank you 5hell for your kind reply. It's so hard not to get paranoid and carried away. I so hoped I would be pregnant before the miscarried baby was due, but I have run out of time for that now. When you look at all the bodily forces working against conception it's amazing that anyone has any babies at all! Good luck on your ttc journey. I hope it's an easy one for you.

Pavot, please try not to worry. I know it is scary thinking there is something wrong, but chances are you are fine. 7 cycles is not that long, especially as your body was probably still recovering for a couple of them.

The first thing they will probably do is send you for blood tests. I think it is normally day 3 & day 21. These are just to check that your hormones levels are as they should be, and you are ovulating. If those results come back OK, they will tell you to keep trying. If they don't, there are lots of things they can do to fix this.

Thank you Nomio230. I have been using opks since Jan 13 and get a postive the same point every month give or take a day or two hopefully they are giving true results and I am ovulating regularly. I just want to be normal! I really look after my body and eat well with regular exercise so feel a bit let down. I hate having no control over this. I have got yoga tomorrow so hopefully that will help me relax a bit!
