Hello
I've been lurking on this board for a while and finally plucked up the courage to say hello and ask a few questions.

I have finally convinced my husband to start trying for a baby after many years, so after nearly 14 years together and being 31 I'm feeling a bit inpatient! I've downloaded a fertility app (ovia) and I'm hoping to get started with my husband this weekend.
Just wondered if anyone had any advice, things they wish they'd known when they started trying, or any good books?
I keep reading so much conflicting information, don't drink any alcohol, drink moderate alcohol, stop exercising, lose weight etc. It's only been a month since we decided and I think i've over done the research because my head is feeling a bit frazzled!

Also, was anyone else in a similar position with their partner? I keep pushing it to the back of my mind but sometimes can't help but think I've essentially worn my husband down and he's only agreed to start trying to shut me up Confused

Thanks for reading Smile

Hi Aimee

Welcome! I use Ovia too, glow is also quite good so is fertility friend.
Come and join the buses. The march eclipse one is still going strong.

Do you know when you ovulate?

AimeeEars27 · 23/03/2015 23:11

Hi GlitteryLipGloss

Thanks so much for replying and for your warm welcome :-)
I have no idea when I actually ovulate, but according to the app it's this weekend! Very excited but I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up that it could happen this month.
Are you trying to? Hope its going well Smile

I'm not 100% sure what the buses are Blush

thanks aimee

Hi ladies

I used the Ovia app too. I downloaded it in December as that's when I stopped my pill and we decided to TTC. I recorded my information religiously on a daily basis and now I'm 6 weeks pregnant! I'm now using the Ovia pregnancy app!

Good luck to you both!

Ah crying that's wonderfulSmile wish you a happy healthy pregnancy ??

Aimee the 'buses' are long group updates/chats about our journey to becoming preggers.

We also have a secret Facebook group too if you wanted to join that in the future your more than welcome.

Lots of information to soak up first tho. I'm still learning. Have you thought about using ovulation sticks? Or were you just going to see what happens the next good few months. X

Hi
Thanks for your replies. It's great to speak to people in the same boat who are TTC.
Unfortunately my nan whom I was very close to suddenly passed away last week so this has interrupted our baby making plans. And i feel terribly selfish about saying that, but when you only get 1 chance a month it is hard not to feel frustrated.

Congrats Crying, thats fantastic news, wishing you a healthy pregnancy
x

Hello can I just throw in my penny's worth? I've been ttc since May 2014. I first used the my days app which was ok but then just stopped working for me after 3 months. I switched to ovia which is good but NEVER correctly predicts my fertile window! I'd advise using OPKs (cheap from ebay or Amazon) as well as temping or checking cervical mucus....
