What blood tests will they do?

More than 6 months after coming off Depo with the intention of TTC. Periods didn't return so discussed with GP who (very reasonably) said give it 6 months then, as I'm over 40, he'd look into possible reasons but women over 40 conceive all the time etc and he full expected me to be going back after a BFP than not.

Took Norethisterone to induce a withdrawal bleed to see if that got things going and did have a bleed that was similar to a 'normal' period for me. Followed 2 weeks later (probably 6 weeks ago) had another, lighter, bleed lasting a couple of days but nothing since. Done OPKs every day for a month to get an idea if things were returning to normal yet and only ever got the control line appearing.

Back to doctor this week and he's ordered lots of blood tests to see what's happening. Thing is, because the form is now sent electronically, I've got no idea what tests he's requested - other than thyroid function and looking at hormone levels, ovary activity (?), something said about checking if brain is communicating with body and 'all the usual bloods'.

Can anyone give me an idea what tests they're likely to do please so I can read up about them? And GP is away until the end of April now so I can't ask him - and have to wait until then to get the results!

Thanks in advance for any help given.

So, I had the blood tests done a couple of weeks ago and got the results back from the surgery today - got another couple of weeks until the appointment with my GP to discuss what's happening.

All of the results are normal apart from one - testosterone level is

Fingers crossed for you. I've no idea what the numbers mean but hopefully the GP will be able to explain. Do keep us updated.
