To test or not to test?

im on cd24 and no idea when I ovulated. Last month my cycle was 28 days but they vary between 22 and 32, and miscarried in December. I think I had IB for 3 days earlier this week (a mixture of sticky pink discharge and brown spotting). I'm having the same feelings in my lower left abdomen that I had when I was pregnant in December and I had BFP on cd24 on that cycle. Do I test or should I wait?!

Wait. You could get a false negative now as it's early. Waste of money & possible disappointment, and it won't change the fact of whether you're pg or not.

Ok I can wait but sooo hard!! Convincing myself I'm pg and the longer I wait, the more I'll convince myself and then more let down I'll be if I'm not. Almost wanted to nip it in the bud now if I'm not but I know it might be a false outcome. How long should I wait? A few days? Another week?

Id test but I'm a POAS addict when I think I might be!! X

Test!!

strawberrysundae · 21/03/2015 10:30

Oh eek I don't know wat to do. I want to test really. I know it's early but it worked last time... I'm doing the supermarket shop this evening so perhaps I'll pick up a test. I'll keep trying to persuade myself to wait though! So impatient!

If you test and it's BFN you'll be really disappointed but it won't actually give you a final answer. The longer you can hold out the better. But I'm weak and, if I were in your position, I'd probably test.
Definitely no point symptom spotting - that way lies madness (I speak from recent experience!)

strawberrysundae · 21/03/2015 12:22

I know what u mean but at least the disappointment would manage by expectations. The later I test the longer I am giving myself to build up hope and convince myself, leading to a bigger disappointment. Thanks for your posts. It helps to just get opinions and to know I'm not going mad (or at least that I'm not the only mad one!) why is it so difficult not to obsess over it? I didn't think I was an obsessive type of person!

I thought I'd be the least obsessive person .... Especially as till October last year I HATED the thought of having another (DS is 18 next month) .... And all I can think about today is ovulating this weekend x

I caved and bought a test. Now the temptation is right at my fingertips! Might test in morn. Feel like iv pulled a muscle right between my hip and my groin now. Its defo not subtle enough to ignore and forget about

Bfn. Still glad I did it! I think I needed a reality check. Should be on period at some point during the week, so if not then I'll test again next weekend
