Hi,

My first ever message after months and months of googling and reading every TTC post under the sun :)

Im 28 and my partner is 26 i have been off Microgynon and TTC number 1 since June of last year, so been a long old tiring journey so far!

You name it, ive tried it! OPKS, vitamins, pre-seed, evening primrose (started that again this cycle) with absolutely no luck, i havent got the hang of BBT charting so far as i get up so many times in the night for a wee i wasnt sure i could do it accurately! lol!

My periods normally range around the 29 day mark, but in the past few months ive had a 26 day, a 30 day and last cycle ended up being 37 days, ive found they are getting lighter aswell which im a bit concerned about! I went to the GP who told me the usual 'wait a year' but sent me for bloods anyway, which came back as 'normal' and my OH has a SA booked in for 2 weeks time (although he already has a child from a previous relaltionship so im pretty sure im the problem) i get a positive OPK every month, even though i know it doesnt mean i necessarily ovulate every month but i take it as a good sign!

After my cycle being unusually long this month and getting my hopes up for a BFP, i finally gave in and opened the bottle of Natures Aid Agnus Castus that had been sitting in my draw and startes taking 1 at morning and 1 at night from CD1, currently on CD4, ive read mostly good things about it and am willing to try almost anything at this point! Ive also bought the ClearBlue Advanced Fertility sticks to start using from CD9 aswell!

Sorry for the long winded post, but anybody in the same boat? Or had results from AC good or bad? Or is starting their cycle again and would like to go through another month of this with me :)

Good Luck to everybody who's going through the same thing, who knew it would be this hard hey!xxx

Sorry to hear you've had a difficult time with TTC. I've just started taking AC too. I'm your age and TTC #1 but I have PCOS so I've never had a normal cycle ever. I'm hoping AC will help with that!

Hiya, thanks for getting back to me! How did you get diagnosed with PCOS? Are you being given anything to treat it? Im wondering if i may have some underlying issues but havent been diagnosed! Im on day 5 of AC and found im having headaches with it, and had quite bad ovulation type pains last night which have disappeared now but im going to stick at it this month xx

I was actually diagnosed with PCOS 14 years ago as a 14yr old. I have type 1 diabetes too so my blood sugars went haywire and I put on about 2 stone in a short period of time despite no changes to diet. I have been on metformin for 12 years but it appears to have done nothing to help my cycle. It has helped with insulin resistance though, I'm having to inject a lot less insulin now than I was before I went on it.

I haven't had any symptoms from the AC yet, or not that I've noticed (I've had a cold since I started taking it so that might have masked any symptoms). What dosage are you taking? I realised a few days after I started it that my tablets only have 40mg in and you need around 100mg a day, so I've upped it to one in the morning and one in the evening now.

How long have you been TTC number one? I think this will be my 9th cycle now!
Ive been to see my GP and he did some blood tests which came back as 'normal' which was literally ALL they said over the phone. Which wasnt very helpful! My OH has a semen analysis on the 31st so providing his results come back okay, hopefully ill be able to go for some scans to rule out anything else wrong with me! Im pretty sure something isnt right though, my periods are so light and short!

I have the natures aid agnus castus tablets, on the bottle it says 100mg and 'equivalent to 1000mg of agnus castus' which is a bit confusing. But im taking one at morning and one at night! If yours are 40mg maybe thats the equivalent of 400mg and on most posts ive seen people take 2 at morning and 2 at night of that strength xx

I think I'll up the dose then!

So sorry to hear you've been trying for 9 cycles Thanks We've only just started TTC but I haven't had a cycle at all for 3 months, so I guess it's something between one and three months. I've actually just found out I've got my pelvic scan this afternoon (necking water already for a full bladder!) so hopefully they'll be able to shed some light on what's happening. I hope your doctors can do the same. Can you tell them you've been trying for longer than you have? That might get the ball rolling quicker.
