I know what you mean Cymon I'm so nervous about testing I think that's why I test so early to prepare myself in case it's a bfn.

Babs we have two cheeky little house bunnies, they are super funny little characters. Ours will be 3 this year. They also have a taste for cables they aren't fussy phones, phone charger, Xbox cables, play station etc. ah then there was the year they broke into the living room and ate the Xmas tree lights!!!

babsbunny · 21/03/2015 11:29

Frog cables seem to taste really good to bunnies! Kinda wish we had got two to begin with now.

babsbunny · 21/03/2015 11:31

Off to the sky garden at the Walkie Talkie today.....should be a nice view of London. Although someone has said it's pretty cold up there....must get wrapped up.

frogbubbles · 21/03/2015 11:55

Ha ha!! Don't they just our naughty male bun went through a phase of ps3 wire chomping. Mr Frog was not impressed.

mrsb0710 · 21/03/2015 12:39

sparkly we've started smep later this month too. I'm nervous we'll mess up the timing, but I'm using cb dual.opks and hopefully that will help.

I wanted to get a house bunny for our little flat, dh said he'd rather a puppy...and we ended up with our Jack Russell. I think my reverse psychology worked out ok. He's a bit of a terror, but I wouldn't be without him now.

cymonsarah · 21/03/2015 12:57

Out shopping nipped to loo,AFs got me Sad

PurdeyPie · 21/03/2015 12:58

Ozmund! Grin

Mamama, I think it's becoming fairly clear that the sudden surge of BFP's has risen exponentially with the knowledge that you have to actually have sex to conceive, not just forage around prodding one's cervix and poking one's tits hopefully.

Babs, how do you cope with rabbit poop on your Liberty duvet? Shock And why oh why are you not yet on the fb group? Hmm?? Hmmmmm????

(I'm only on page 13...) I have been running around my yarden (that's a back yard but bigger than some gardens) ooh-ing and aah-ing at the young buds of spring. My sorry-looking clematis of yesteryear has suddenly decided to bloom like a sweat, zit-covered debutante and my Japanese acers are just about ready to karate chop the competition. This afternoon I will be going to th'opticians and then scurrying home to plant seeds in my new propagator: climbing petunia; eccremocarpus scaber (a thrilling flame-orange Chilean climber); red rudbekia; cosmos; and verbena bonariensis. Glorious! It's such a crime that these beauties have to be contained in pots Sad

PurdeyPie · 21/03/2015 12:59

*sweaty

PurdeyPie · 21/03/2015 13:00

*once-sweaty, actually Hmm

PurdeyPie · 21/03/2015 13:12

Aaargh! I hope I didn't upset you, Spinning! I'm rather unequivocal about blokes giving their missus' the silent treatment. I won't say any more about it though Thanks

Loving all the rabbit and guinea chat. Now we know how Babsbunny got her name!

I'm wondering where MissMummy and CookieDough and Mummyof1 are and hoping they're okay. Purple, you are kind Thanks

eskimolaura · 21/03/2015 13:12

Hi all, I've been offline for a couple of days and I'm struggling to catch up!

Purdey You asked a couple of pages ago if I saw a GP or the fertility consultant and why they are booking in a HSG if the problem is lack of AF. I saw the fertility consultant at the hospital after being referred by the GP. She wanted to make very sure that I was TTC before deciding on the course of action. If the problem was just a lack of periods, they would simply induce a bleed with Norethisterone again. Apparently, if you go without AF for an extended period of time (6 months or so), the lining of the womb can thicken and start to show pre-cancerous cells, so they would want me to have a bleed to prevent that. However, because we are TTC, they want to run all the tests to see if there is an underlying issue (PCOS?) and check to see if I'm actually producing eggs at all. At the same time, they want DH to get checked out whilst I am going through the tests, as it may save time in the long run if there's a problem with his sperm. How are you today?

Giddy and Purdey Have you made your yummy cakes yet? I am going to get my bake-on during the Easter hols. My mum made an AMAZING cake for my dad's birthday. It's been dubbed the 'new carrot cake' and it is totally scrumptious. Purdey It's also a Good Food recipe. I demand that you make it NOW! www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/12983/catherine-berwicks-parsnip-and-maple-syrup-cake

All your talk of the eclipse made me chuckle. I wasn't the slightest bit interested in seeing it until my Year 11 class nagged me to let them go outside and watch it. I'm really glad they convinced me; it was fun! Although I wasn't aware that looking at it could make you go blind Confused Luckily, we only caught the final few minutes, so my retinas stayed intact.

Sparkly Thanks for asking about the HSG. I haven't called them yet. I might do it next week, although DH is now saying that he wants to hold off TTC until I've had a period. He may be right. We'll see! I'm still taking the Agnus Castus so nothing is happening right now anyway. Hmm

Huge congratulations to all the BFPs! Mama, Autumn and Mary So pleased for you all. Mary It looks like your mum was looking down on you on Mothers' Day Flowers

Boris! Good to have you back. Sounds like you had an... err... tiring holiday! Wink

Welcome to Moon and butterchunks

Babs Giggling at cumin and minions

Spinning Hoping you and your DH sort things out soon. It's rubbish when a row lasts for more than a day.

I had to take my gorgeous blue greyhound to the vets this morning as he has had a limp since Wednesday. He had it 3 weeks ago and I took him and they gave him anti-inflamms, which seemed to make it better, but it's come back and I was terrified that it was something sinister. The vet called about half an hour ago (that's how long I've been writing this damn post!) and they've done all sorts of x-rays and scans and have found some calcified discs near his spine. I think that means that he will have to have regular injections from here on in, but couldn't really concentrate after the vet's words 'It's not cancer...' I was just so relieved. Will find out more when I go and pick him up.

Well, that was an epic post. I really should post more often... Off over to the FB page now to see what I've missed there... Good job I have nothing planned today!

eskimolaura · 21/03/2015 13:16

Forgot to wave to my home girls Juney and dojo. Grin

PurdeyPie · 21/03/2015 13:19

Sparkly, have you tried Googling 'activities for boys aged X'? There are some easy ways of entertaining chimpanzees of all ages on t'interweb. You don't have to suffer recalcitrant shits boys Smile I know you love 'em, but I don't want you wearing yourself out. P.s..I don't think you and hubby stop sexing too soon; you always carry on at least to 2dpo, no?

Ah, cymon, I'm dead sorry Sad Will you be imbibing a shitload of this stuff the neet? Wine

MrsB, that dog looks far too intelligent to me. I almost asked him for the square root of sixteen.

eskimolaura · 21/03/2015 13:22

Commiserations Cymon Flowers and Wine

mrsb0710 · 21/03/2015 13:30

eskimo if your dog has calcification, you can try doggy supplements that contain green lip muscle and glucosamine, it can really help.

purds he needs a tweed jacket, glasses, and a smoking pipe.

I've accomplished more house work in half a day vs DH in the 3 days he was off. Had a big fry up for breakfast, and now I need a nap.
Got a check up a the docs next week for my IBD, is it worthwhile adding any ttc bloods to my to-do list? Did any of you get a rubella check?

Off to have some Brew and Cake.

babsbunny · 21/03/2015 13:32

Purdey bun Is litter trained and goes back downstairs to her own abode to excrete.

I'm hiding from face book as I am actually Jennifer Anniston...

PurdeyPie · 21/03/2015 13:40

I love your posts, Eskimo. Glad the pooch is okayish; it's so worrying when they become ill.

Your fertility person sounds brilliant, I am so chuffed that you are on the road to some bloody answers at last. Can I ask why you are using agnus castus? I know it is seen as a panacea for perimenopausal women due to its oestrogen-boosting properties but I am sure I've read it is not to be taken lightly by anyone else.

I almost fainted when I clicked on your link. I shouted DH from the kitchen: 'DH! There's a 'new carrot cake' been invented by BBC Good Food! It's parsnip and maple syrup!' He hasn't stopped drooling. He is a huge carrot cake fan. 'Can we afford it, love?' I just hate being poor Sad

jugglingmonkey · 21/03/2015 13:42

That sucks Cymon, sorry. ??

PurdeyPie · 21/03/2015 13:42

Babs, I knew it. Left it a bit late to get preggers though, love, eh?

cymonsarah · 21/03/2015 13:43

Just bought 2 bottles of prosseco! Angry WineWineWine

eskimolaura · 21/03/2015 14:09

Thank you mrsb I will see if I can get hold of some. Can't wait to get my big daft lad home and give him squidges. I cried when I left him at the vets (waited til he'd gone in though).

Purdey I think the lady that I saw was actually a locum. I was supposed to see a male doctor, but he was running 50+ minutes late with his clinic and so she saw me instead. She kept running between me and the doc, relaying his messages! She also spoke very quickly, with a foreign accent and I had trouble understanding her, hence why my mind was a bit blown on Thursday night Hmm

Yes, the Agnus Castus is supposed to be strong stuff and isn't to be taken lightly. It is a menopausal supplement, but it's also supposed to regulate hormones for the menstrual cycle. Apparently it works on the pituitary gland by balancing the levels of FSH and LH, which then sends a message to the ovaries. The result is that progesterone levels go up and your cycle kicks back into action. It can take between 3 and 6 months. I spoke to one of my friends recently, who is 4 months preggers and already has a DS. When she came off the pill to try and conceive him, she didn't have periods for a while and she started to take AC. She had a period 3 weeks later. AC is dubbed by some to be 'nature's clomid'. I'm not sure about all of that, but am giving it a go.

The cake was apprently inspired by the crazy mad old bird character from The Vicar of Dibley. The one who was always cooking and baking weird things. It is quite honestly, one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted! Why don't you try growing some parsnips in one of your lovely pots? :)

DizzyMerry · 21/03/2015 14:56

So sorry cymonsarah BrewCake for you. It's a tough ride this ttc malarkey. Fx next cycle is the one.

On the subject of Agnus castus, I took it a few years ago and got quite a bit of brown blood, it was like a period bleed but brown. It really concerned me so I went to the walk in centre and was met by a male Dr who was too embarrassed to even look at me and tried to hand me a prescription. I asked what it could be and he couldn't answer and said the medication would "sort it out". I am not one to be anything but polite but he really annoyed me and I told him so and walked out, feeling even worse. I stopped the AC and the bleeding stopped. Has anyone ever experienced this? Or know what it could have been that caused it?

eskimolaura · 21/03/2015 15:03

No idea merry. Isn't brown blood supposed to be old blood? Could it have been lining that hadn't been shed for some reason for a while? What did you take the AC for in the first place?
