12 days late and confused

Lurker here, sorry if this is a silly question or tmi.. Af usually comes on or around the 4th of the month. My partner and I have been trying for 4 months, I have a son, he does not currently have any children.

As of today af is 12 days late, on the 2nd missed day I took a test which was negative and again on the 7th and the 11th, both negative and not a hint of a line. Usually before my af I get sore breasts which I haven't had this time around, I have no pg symptoms just awfully tired. No signs that af is on her way either. My gp isn't interested and simply said sometimes people have irregular periods. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any chance I could still be pg despite the negative tests or shall I just wait it out? ?

Do you know when or if you ovulated? You could be having an anovulatory cycle.

NinjasPrincess · 18/03/2015 13:38

I'm not really sure as I don't use opk or temp charts or any of those things; too much bother for my brain! I don't really have any telltale signs either. This is the first time I have been so late, the latest I have ever been is a few days and that was probably because someone close to me passed away suddenly at that time

You just have to wait it out in afraid. What cycle day are you on?

NinjasPrincess · 18/03/2015 13:48

42 :(

Maybe wait another week and then ring GP again - they can do blood work to check for pregnancy - if you had a anovulatory cycle then you may not bleed until 12-16 days after you ovulate the next cycle round. So depending on how long your cycles are usually, you could be ovulating again now and can expect AF within 2-3 weeks. Either way I hope you get some answers.

Thankyou ? usually 30 days, it's the waiting that's frustrating, I just wanted to definitely know either way so that I can get on I suppose!

When we were ttc I missed a period one month and it drove me mad! Turned up the next month when it was meant to.

mummyofonesofar · 18/03/2015 14:38

Last month I was really late too, when TTC it can be heartbreaking to keep getting BFNs but no AF.

BabyBumpHopeful · 20/03/2015 00:37

I completely skipped a period late last year. Must not have ovulated that money.

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 20/03/2015 00:47

I was 21 days late when pregnant with ds, ttc dc2 just now and 4 days late. Don't know what to think.

Doctor wasn't interested when I knew I was pregnant with ds as well.
So just waiting it out this time and refusing to pee on anymore sticks.
I'm not sure what to think, have loads of symptoms but worried it's all in my head.

NinjasPrincess · 23/03/2015 19:13

Thanks all! Still waiting!

It's so frustrating - I was 7 days late this month & I know I ovulated but got BFNs & eventually AF on Friday. Last time I had an extra long cycle I got pregnant the following month so hoping its a good omen! Fingers crossed for you Star

I am experiencing exactly the same thing. I am usually 26-28 days. I am now on day 40. I had really strong period pains and my normal grumpiness about the time I should have come on but that has all gone now. And just like you, no swollen boobs. Various tests have all been negative. The Dr has suggested I look out for signs of ectopic just in case but otherwise had no suggestion other than my body just playing tricks on me. Never good! We have been trying for a year and a half. It feels so frustrating that I don't know what is happening in my own body.

Hi Ladies, it took me almost two weeks to get a positive, i had only come of the pill two months before so had just assumed it may have messed my cycle up, was so surprised when i got a positive. i think HG takes longer to detect with different people, so basically if your late and still no sign of your period there is a chance you could still be pregnant. wishing you all lots of luck!
