Struggling at 23...

I just want to share my situation on here and see if anyone else is going through the same struggle, or has done and succeeded in getting pregnant and having a baby.

I got pregnant in 2013 and suffered a miscarriage at 8 weeks. This was a completely unplanned pregnancy however it was still devastating.

I have now been trying for 5 months and usually try to conceive when I am ovulating. However it is still not happening which feels soul crushing.

This month I had pregnancy like symptoms and my period was over a week late, however it arrived yesterday and destroyed all hopes of me being pregnant.

I would like to know how I can find out when exactly I ovulate. I have used techniques such as calculating and having sex on and around the 14th day of my cycle but this is not working at all.

If anyone has any good advice for me please let me know. Thanks xx

Hi xfriends so sorry to hear about the miscarriage and that you're feeling so low about things.
I don't want to sound like a cliche but it is perfectly normal to take up to 12 months for a healthy couple to conceive so try not to worry. Have you tried using ovulation prediction tests? I find these really helpful to pinpoint the most likely time of ovulation and focusing efforts around then! Clearblue do a good range of these.
Hope you feel more positive about things soon. There are so many success stories on these boards of ladies who have been trying for much longer than you, so don't lose hope! Smile

I definitely recommend getting some ovulation sticks. I have a 28 day cycle and assumed that I ovulated on day 14. Nope, day 17 so I'd been missing it.

Hi xfriends this is exactly like me, i'm currently on my sixth month of trying and i think i've been predicting ovulation wrong, it must happen later than usual. I haven't bought ovulation test sticks i'm just going to do the deed throughout the whole month!
I'm really sorry about your miscarriage, I too lost an unplanned pregnancy at 8 weeks, though unplanned it still hurts like hell.

I hope things start looking up and hopefully this time get your BFP! good luck Smile
