I promised myself I'd give myself a break from TTC number 2 for a couple of months - but as I approach ovulation this weekend I'm not sure I can help myself Wink

Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

Maybe we can get lucky together...

I think a drink or two during the TWW isn't going to do anything, but try not to get too inebriated.

MissMalteser · 25/03/2015 16:02

Thanks jelly, I am planning on sticking to spritzers that are 3/4 soda water and 1/4 wine topped up with ice so will hopefully keep the suspicious lot at bay :)
I just don't want to get into the "you must be pregnant" jokes only to be disappointed come next week! Plus I am a rubbish liar so even the subject will be awkward for me to dodge if it comes up!

mumtoason87 · 25/03/2015 16:33

Have a drink or two, a few drinks won't do any harm.

If you find out you're not pregnant it will make you feel silly that you didn't have a fun time with your friends.
Anyone else watch the kardashians in Sunday? Kim kardashian with all we ovulation tests and insisting Kanye comes to her photo shoot to DTD because she thinks that she's ovulating! Funny.

She's like all of us! Wink

Hello I thought I would give this thread a bump to see how all us tww are getting on, this is my first cycle and I feel like a pro at symptom spotting already!
Mostly all I'm noticing is how tired I am (afternoon nap anyone?) however as dh says I am a lazy cow so any excuse lol
Have a first response tucked up ready for use, 6 days before takes me to tomorrow morning but I think I'll try to hold off til Monday, anyone else busy NOT symptom spotting :)

epskie · 27/03/2015 17:02

Hey MissM cheeky dh! I reckon you're showing remarkable restraint waiting until then!

I am symptom spotting like mad but I'm poorly with flu at the moment so any symptoms are kind of irrelevant. I've just bought a frer, my af is due on Monday, not sure whether to do it or not as I'm actually only 9dpo. What do you think?

jellypi3 · 27/03/2015 17:03

wait till monday epskie or better still until 14DPO. I am due Monday but i'm testing Wednesday.

epskie · 27/03/2015 17:14

Do you think I'll just be disappointed jelly ? Think the early response thing isn't very reliable?

honeysucklejasmine · 27/03/2015 17:16

Always wait till you are late, or you are going to make yourself miserable and waste lots of money

Unless you get a positive, in which case, great!

But really, wait till you're late.

epskie · 27/03/2015 17:23

Sigh, I know you're right guys x

jellypi3 · 27/03/2015 17:33

FRER's are the most sensitive tests out there but I really don't see the point testing early. The fact is if you are late then test because there's a good chance you are pregnant (or miscalculated ovulation).

I see all these people on MN testing at 8/9DPO or agonising over whether to test at 10DPO and I just think "why not wait 4 days or however long until AF is due and then you will at least be in a better position". I've never tested before AF is due but I have had BFN's from testing when I had no period, and it was demoralising then (i had only been TTC for 1/2 months!). 8 months in and I know with certainty I won't test before I'm due even if I had every "symptom" going.

Sorry for the mini rant lol I just hate seeing people so upset and disappointed when they get bfn then AF. After AF is due I would be pissing on every inanimate object in sight

mrsfazruns · 27/03/2015 18:39

6 days into TWW ..... Doesn't help im on annual leave and DH isn't so sitting around all day thinking about sticky eggs!!!

madgiebean · 27/03/2015 18:42

Hi all

I've been following this thread for a while not saying much! I ended up ovulating late this month (I think) going by calanders and tracking cm anyway.. I think I ovulated Tuesday or Wednesday so my tww has just started, Whereas I was due to ovulate Saturday, so I know AF will be a few days late now so it'll get me all excited.. I'm determined not to test for a while Til im pretty sure I'll get a BFP.. Although I've symptom spotted in previous months and tested ive always felt AF was due anyway so I kind of knew testing was pointless.. I'm trying to stay positive over the next two weeks as I have a lot to do to keep me busy with it being Easter.

Good luck everyone!

LaraNotCroft22 · 27/03/2015 20:20

Hi I'm new! Just had a pos clearblue ov test so joining you all. Good luck all!!!

epskie · 27/03/2015 20:32

MrsF I've been off work too which definitely makes the obsessing even worse!

Hi madgie hope you manage better than I have with the no symptom spotting! Easter will surely help :-)

Hi Lara so you're going to busy for the next few days then Wink

LaraNotCroft22 · 27/03/2015 21:15

Haha epskie we will see Wink fingers crossed for that December bean!

MissMalteser · 27/03/2015 21:46

Epskie I wpuld test! I know I shouldn't but in a way seeing a negative at the start of the day would put it out of my mind! (Until the next day at least) but I know I am probably in the minority there, then again isn't that what fr is all about? If we have the means we may as well use them :)
I know dh is pretty cheeky but also knows me well, although even he was shocked when he seen me this afternoon, transparent is not a good look!

laws04 · 27/03/2015 22:48

Hi all new to all of this! it's my first month ttc Smile using a fertility app ovia and it is saying I will be ovulating this weekend so goin to try my best to get lucky an join in on the Xmas babies!! Had some wet cm today so fingers crossed will be ovulating this weekend!! Good luck all x Flowers

epskie · 27/03/2015 23:15

Sounds promising laws time to get busy! I use ovia too, I like it the best out of all of the apps x

epskie · 28/03/2015 09:08

Should've listened to you jelly bfn on an frer this morning :-( don't think I'm quite out yet though - still thinking positive!

MissMalteser · 28/03/2015 11:32

Aw epskie I'm sure it's so disappointing, but as you say it's not over until af sings! I am tempted to poas just so I can see the negative and not feel any guilt about my wine today but I know it's was too early!

epskie · 28/03/2015 12:18

Haha, if I didn't have flu I'd be having wine tonight, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

mumtoason87 · 28/03/2015 17:06

I'm really confused. I thought I ovulated a good few days ago but today have quite a lot of creamy coloured EWCM.
It seems to fertile in quality to be post ovulation CM.
I have no idea where I'm at now or what my chances are.
I'm not holding out much hope for this month.
I've only had one period since stopping breastfeeding, so I guess my body is still trying to adjust.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

OP posts:
epskie · 28/03/2015 17:18

Hi mum I'm afraid I haven't experienced anything like that but I'm not really a long term ttc'er. Did you have a positive opk?

mumtoason87 · 28/03/2015 17:24

No I've run out of opks- I was just going by cervix and CM changes.

And dates of my last period

Sooo wish I had an ovulation test to take right now :(

OP posts:
epskie · 28/03/2015 17:29

I've only really started this month. I used the clearblue digital. Ewcm was there too but I think it's a reassuring back up.
