I promised myself I'd give myself a break from TTC number 2 for a couple of months - but as I approach ovulation this weekend I'm not sure I can help myself Wink

Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

Maybe we can get lucky together...

Can I join you?

I had a mmc in December so a christmas baby would be really wonderful.

Good luck ladies : )

MissMalteser · 18/03/2015 21:09

Yes Mrs Faz I find myself wondering how inappropriate it is to sign off wishing you all happy shagging!
On that subject can I ask a cheeky question? I am wondering which strategy is best, quantity, so dtd every day, or quality so every other day so as not to effect sperm count? There are just some questions you don't broach with your friends over a cuppa :)

MelonMelon · 18/03/2015 21:11

Seems general consensus is every other day? Mind you I do tend to ramp it up during fertile week! I'm amazed that they can "regenerate' so fast!

MissMalteser · 18/03/2015 21:56

See it seems so weird to be TTC and actually slowing down how often we dtd! Not that we're usually at it like rabbits or anything Blush

mrsfazruns · 18/03/2015 23:08

I've read everywhere every 2 days!!!

jellypi3 · 19/03/2015 07:51

If your partner has a normal sperm count then every day is fine during the fertile phase (we are trying that this month). If it's slightly low then every other day is best. Because most people don't know what their OH's sperm count is every other day is recommended. I don't know my DP's sperm count but we've been trying doing EOD for ages so this month we are trying every day for the 4 fertile days.

patienceisvirtuous · 19/03/2015 15:35

My cheapy ov predictor strips say it's time :) We've been seriously dtd'ing this week and will continue for the next few days.

In the two cycles I got pg last year (Both m/c :( ) we dtd a coupe of times a day over ovulation. Brutal! But it worked?!

I know guidelines are EOD though.

Teakind, I had a MMC at Christmas so I feel the same re a Christmas baby :)

It will be my first too. And I was 37 in December, so I'm definitely feeling the pressure!

Hi all! TTC No 2 here, and due to start Ovulating on Tues!
I actually go by a Test I do Online, what was the first Date of your last Period ect, to get a Ovulation Date. Is the poas ones better/more accurate? I did the Online one when TTC DS, it seemed to work as only took us 6 Weeks! X

surferchic41212 · 19/03/2015 17:51

Can I join? I'm hoping to ovulate this weekend! Currently ttc #2, but have had the weirdest cycles since I came off the pill last summer- currently on cd24 and no sign of ov.. But last month I ov'd on cd28. Just trying to dtd as much as possible! I've been using CB opk, and have had 13 days of peak.. No high.. Fingers crossed for the weekend..

epskie · 19/03/2015 17:57

Hi just a quick question ladies. Did anybody have a particularly uncomfortable ovulation after their miscarriage? I got a positive opk yesterday and I have a particularly uncomfortable abdomen and an aching breast :-(

toadierocks · 19/03/2015 20:11

Hi epskie
Ah I'm so sorry you MC'd, I did too last November at about 13 weeks, very nasty business but I had the same issue the cycle afterwards, it was very painful any my abdomen was cramping and then went rigid, I was actually convinced I had a badder infection so scurried off to the doctors but she assured me it was all the hormones/trauma of the MC just playing havoc with the system. It sorted itself out next cycle and me and DH started TTC again in January. If you're worried or it gets worse then have a chat with the doc. good idea to use the opk tho as its good to know that the ovaries are firing again. I went to a 39d cycle afterwards too but now back to a normal (for me) 30d. hope that helps?

MelonMelon · 19/03/2015 20:17

I'm a fellow posy MC ttc'er. Have any of you ladies every had a smiley face on a cb digital ovulation test? I'm doing mime in the mornings and no smiley yet

epskie · 19/03/2015 21:19

Thanks ladies, that's put my mind at rest, I too was worrying that something was extremely wrong!

melon I got my first smiley yesterday - so satisfying! Although today my lunatic ttc brain has got me thinking that my digital stick felt so bad having given me nothing but 'O' s for so long that it gave me a 'pity smiley'

I know, completely crazy :-/

MelonMelon · 19/03/2015 21:20

Haha! I'd take a pity smiley!

surferchic41212 · 19/03/2015 21:54

At the moment, mine are all those flashing smileys.. Not the real one. I have to admit, I'm not convinced by the dual hormone ones as they get your hopes up and no ov actually comes along!! I'm about to run out of sticks!

toadierocks · 19/03/2015 22:25

yeah be careful with the cb dual hormone ones, i'v had many false readings off them (I did them along side the standard ones) and also it gets stuck on a permanent smiley face until the battery dies..... never good to see the stuck face esp when its not true, the digital cb that just indicate the LH rise are ok although they are just a jazzed up version of the good old POAS ones, except twice the price. Personally the boots ones are great and you get 7 in a pack, my cycle has been all over the place so I go though about two packs a month (addict much) but they're reliable and at least you know you've fired that month!

mrsfazruns · 20/03/2015 11:30

OPK positive this morning (I think .... Photo attached and got darker than that) .... So the question is when to DTD

We did yesterday morning and night before!! Now can't jump him till tonight!? So let's hope this is a sticky little sucker and I get my BFP with an EDD on my MC date!!!!! Bring on TWW full of symptom watching and wanting to test at 2dpo!!!!

Anyone else due to ovulate this weekend? Let's try and make some Xmas babies!
MelonMelon · 20/03/2015 13:47

Mrs id say that's + I'm still not getting any smiley faces and losing hope for getting a BFP on my MC due date Sad

mrsfazruns · 20/03/2015 14:57

Keep thinking positive thoughts!!! Never knew baby making was so stressful!! Im hoping for you!! Xx

mumtoason87 · 20/03/2015 17:31

Mrsfazruns that looks very positive to me! I'll be doing one of those tomorrow as I thinks that's my OV day. Let's hope I'm right, and I get a chance to be with my husband tonight.

Teakind · 20/03/2015 17:48

Sorry you had a mmc at Christmas too patience (and to everyone else who has also been through a mc). It's horrible and we all deserve sticky beans!

I'm on a high on my cbfm so hoping for a peak tomorrow. We tried for 8 months last time every other day and the month it worked we did it 4 days in a row over ovulation. It could have been a coincidence but I'll definitely be trying that appraise again this month.

Teakind · 20/03/2015 17:49

Approach not appraise!

toadierocks · 21/03/2015 09:24

Wishing everyone a fun-filled ovulation weekend, hope you are all DTD and have a happy shagging weekend! Wink
Im 5dpo and trying not to imagine symptoms.... crazy brain. does anyone know what typical/average implantation day is?

MelonMelon · 21/03/2015 09:56

As far as I know it needs to be 7dpo at the earliest for implantation. Fingers crossed for you! I'm not convinced I've ovulated this cycle which is getting me down Sad No positive OPKS and no ewcm

mrsfazruns · 21/03/2015 12:22

Sorry for another opk question!! I posted my possible positive yesterday and today the OPK is SUPER strong!! The darkest IVE ever had! So is my ov likely to be 12-48 hours from yesterday or today!?? Or does it matter if we at DTDing every day x
