Hello all, this is my first post but I've been reading and taking in all your collective wisdom over the last six months while we've been trying to conceive.

After promising myself I wouldn't test this month before my period I gave in after some odd symptoms and am quite astonished to have a positive test at lunch time today, 2 days before I'm due. So very excited, I haven't even told my husband yet, but also a bit nervous - I have no idea what happens now!

I assume I shouldn't get too ahead of myself - as my period isn't due I guess it could still turn up?

I'm already taking folic acid, but anything else I should start taking now or cut out apart from the obvious? And most pertinently, can I still have my morning coffee? Is there a recommended daily limit or a massive no?

Congratulation!

You shouldn't have more than 200mg a day of caffeine during pregnancy www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/limit-caffeine-during-pregnancy.aspx?CategoryID=54&SubCategoryID=130

I don't drink coffee anyway but switched to decaf tea immediately. If you just google food to avoid in pregnancy the NHS website is pretty good.
