Ok, here we go, I'll start this off:

  • do the work I am supposed to be doing rather than being TTC obsessed!
  • put on your fleecy pjs, sleep all you want and forget about sex totally!
  • try to remember what I used to do with my time before I discovered MumsNet
  • get overexcited about Christmas although it's not even November yet!!

Now your turn!!

Decorate/ Paint a room
Job Hunting
Planning an event eg. drinks for 5+ days into AF to look forward to

Go late night shopping to get Christmas pressies early to beat the crowd and last minute tack
New hobby or take up a new sport
Plan your next holiday
Get a new haircut

Go on a city/country walk without a rewarding stop at a new or old favourite pub at the end
Dig out the digital photos you have and have some of them printed into albums or on a website
Buy massage oil and give each other a full body massage by candelight

Breakfast in bed
After the clocks go back, wrap up warm and take your man on a park walk open up your rucksack and surprise him with bubbly and strawberries
Try a new recipe or a new restaurant
Send the boys to the pub and have a girlie film night in or fun night out

cityangel · 27/10/2006 14:01

Oops I meant with a rewarding stop at the pub

ready4motherhood · 27/10/2006 14:03

Strictly Come Dancing

Reading... currently Zadie Smith's White Teeth. Had it for ages, but only just blown the dust off it. Fiction books never get read until the 2ww and AF

I like the idea of walking... perhaps I will give that a try!

How about eating enough chocolate for 2 just in case

Baking. I love doing that. Very therapeutic and homely!!

KitKat30 · 27/10/2006 14:19

Not even on a 2ww and I'm still consumed so...

  • relax, try not to think about TTC every 36 seconds
  • enjoy a few tipples whilst not on 2ww
  • do some work and stop looking obsessively at my charts
  • erm...did I say relax about the whole blooming thing?!!
coggy · 27/10/2006 15:13

LOL at this thread MrsMc....inspired!!!!!

My ideas.....??

~Be on MN all the time and get totally absorbed by everyone else's 2WW!!!!!

~Try to avoid any form of exercise as much as possible just in case!!

And...I am liking Ready4motherhood's plan too....
~Eat as much as you can because there's no point going to your slimming club and re-joining as you'll give it up anyway if you get your BFP!!

I'm not really much help am I??!!!

desperate2bmum · 27/10/2006 16:24

mmmmm...what do i do in my 2ww???

top of the list - convince myself that there is no way i am pregnant this month in the hope that i am..if that makes sense?!

think of my new diet regime if i dont get my bfp

come on mn for everywaking hour that i am at home.

1n2s · 27/10/2006 16:31

OMG!!! Check out these lists!!! You will all make excellent mums!!!

MrsMcJnr · 27/10/2006 17:37

LOVE these! More, more, more...!

ready4motherhood · 27/10/2006 17:43

I am going to make christmas cards... and do one of those stretch canvas paintings (abstract) this 2ww I think!

How about knitting?? I have always wanted to learn how to knit, but no one to teach me. Would love to be able to knit by the time I got a BFP so I could knit for my own baby!!! Have I gone mental??

ready4motherhood · 27/10/2006 17:44

Oh and I will definitely be doing what Desperate2bmum is doing - convincing myself that I am not pg whilst hoping that I am!

Minshu · 27/10/2006 18:03

Great idea MrsMcJnr!

Ready4motherhood - good luck with the knitting - hope you have more sticking power than me. I started making a jumper for my nephew about 5 months before he was due and got it finished about 2 years later (it's now on a teddy bear). I am currently working on a smaller project - crocheting spider's webs to go with my halloween party costume for tomorrow night. Having difficulty in getting my extra legs attached, though... May end up going as a boring old witch after all

Have visitors this weekend, so that will keep my mind off things. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of looking for explanations about why I'm off the booze...

MrsMcJnr · 28/10/2006 09:05

lots of knitting comments, means I can confess to buying a how to knit book! I knew how to when I was little but have forgotten - anyone fancy a "Cardi before my baby arrives" thread!

Citygirl - I recently loaded all my photos up to Snapfish website and made a couple of photo books of our wedding for both sets of parents (we only got married in June but official photos are still not done!). They only cost £20 and they are pretty good.

Let's face it we will all be keeping Desperate company - convincing ourselves we are not but hoping that we are

I am trying to convince myself that these very strong AF cramps are just a figment of my imagination!!!!!!

Minshu.........hope you got your legs attached!!!

Natty1806 · 28/10/2006 11:05

The things i am doing /done are

  • Plan a liquid lunch with Friend the weekend AF is due.
  • Wear short skirts, boots and low cut tops (not all at the same time) but no way i will wear these when preggers.
  • Dig out my photos sat in a box and put into albumns
  • Shopping
  • Christmas shopping
  • See Friends, make sure i am busy every weekend
  • Lie ins......won't be able to have if these in a few months/years.
  • Get down the gym
  • Plan next diet while sat eating as much choc as possible
  • Plan next months plan of action, ref grapefuit juice etc

......however to be honest i sit looking at the calendar working out due dates, when i can leave for ML when i would be going back etc etc. sad sad life i lead. xx

ready4motherhood · 28/10/2006 11:46

MrsMc... you will have to put a "knitting tip of the day" on that cardi thread!!! What is the name of your book?? I really want to get one. I was telling DH yesterday that I want to learn to knit... all I got was... ... not entirely sure how to take that! I suppose he thinks it's unlikely I could produce anything he would let me dress our baby in!!

desperate2bmum · 28/10/2006 12:04

more the merrier!!!

mrsmcjnr - my nan has knitted tonnes and tonnes of baby stuff already and tried to teach me too.

count me in for a "cardi before my baby arrives" thread. we can all post pictures too of when they are finished.....or is that me just being sad?!

DH always makes comments about knitting being a middle-aged thing to do, but we don't have to listen to him, do we? It's nice to do something creative once in a while, after spending all week at work.

A lot of the first half of this 2ww was spent crocheting spider webs and making my spider costume for last night's halloween party. Thanks for asking Coggy - I did get the legs attached, by sticking them into a couple of pairs of tights and holding them in place with a belt. DH painted his own skeleton outfit (which looked far better than the shop-bought one that another guest was wearing, imho). I won a bottle of wine (to drink with AF, if she arrives) for my outfit.

Part 2 of 2ww will probably be spent worrying about work, trying to book a pre-Christmas holiday and trying to convince myself that I'm not pg, while hoping that I am (but you knew that anyway, didn't you...)

MrsMcJnr · 30/10/2006 09:34

Hey ladies! I started a knitting thread for us!

OP posts:
ready4motherhood · 02/11/2006 13:30

DH bestfriend and his fiancee coming to stay for a few days... so will keep my mind off the 2ww entertaining them... Have baked choc cookies (there are no kids, just us "adults" - thought I should confess that early on) and blueberry muffins. And get to go wedding dress shopping with friend too - how exciting!! I only got married 2 years ago but would love to do it all again!!

Ready · 21/11/2006 18:26

bumping this for Impatience, since she is detesting the 2ww and needs something to take her mind off it!!

MrsMcJnr · 22/11/2006 16:17

Well, seeing as I am in the 2ww again, I'd better review the list - thank goodness for my knitting!
