Giving Soya Isoflavones a go again - how to counter side effects?

I have started taking soya isoflavones yesterday on CD1 of my cycle. I plan to take 120, 160, and then 3 days of 200 mg. I have tried them one cycle before and found that it dried up my cm (tmi, sorry). Has anyone found a way to counter this? I read grapefruit juice is good for cm but I hate it. Will take it if I have to, but hate it! Thanks!

Hi artylady - we can be soy buddies! I started on Sunday & doing 80mg x3, 120 & 160 (last two times I've used it I took way more but ov didn't happen for 5 weeks so dialling it back).

I've found evening primrose works well for cm. Two capsules a day, stopping on day 12, and I get a week's build up. Hope that helps and good luck to!

Can i take evening primrose oil started on CD8 ir is that too late?

Oh toohardtothink... that's good to know. I will see how I go then this cycle as I am on day 4 and have taken 200mg today.

I have started taking EPO but just take the one capsule that the packet recommends (I use Tesco's). So it's ok to double the dose? I didnt really find it helped with cm last time I used it to increase cm so maybe its ok.

Everything crossed...you can start taking EPO at that time, no harm, but you need to stop at ovulation I believe.

Hi everything crossed. Arty is right, EPO causes uterine contractions so best to stop a few days before you're due to OV ??

Arty, I take 2 capsules (1 morning & 1 night) and I'm sure I've read somewhere the dose is 3 capsules but I have an issue with odd numbers! It's funny, when I took a high dose of SI I felt no side-effects & OV never happened, I'm on the starters dosage & have achey boobs and fatigue. Hoping my body is reacting to it this time! Hope you're not suffering from those headaches I've read about.

I took si and used epo and guaifanesin cough syrup to encourage cervical mucus.
I don't know if it was that, but I'm almost 17 weeks now!
Good luck Smile

Hi Frolic! I remember you from the trying with SI thread, congratulations on your pregnancy! Flowers

Ps. Just so happens I have a tickly cough & some syrup here. Must be fate chugs the bottle

Hi again. Thanks for the feedback everyone. For some reason I lost the plot this week and on a couple of the five days I can't remember if I took the SI or even how much I took. I have had no side effects but I know that I started on 120mg and on day 5 I took 200mg. I am having a small glass of grapefruit juice a day, which I hate. I will take some cough syrup...glad to hear it worked for you Frolicacid :)
