I did a test today lunchtime that came out a bit weird looking, the control line was normal, but the test line wasn't an even colour. It had one very dark strip running along the edge (darker than the control), and then the rest was a lighter colour (slightly lighter than the control). Does anyone know if this is likely to be positive? Wish I had kept it to take a photo!

I had two big blobs of EWCM last night so I'm guessing it might be positive? I'm all new to this so not sure what to expect.

Are you using one step tests? Because they do this to me all the time. I think the rule of thumb is if half the test line is darker take it as a positive, if it's only a little strip on the edge ignore it.

Thanks for your reply :) Are one step tests the cheapy dipstick strips that you can buy in bulk? If so yes Grin

I've been getting a dark rim on some of the test lines since I started using the strips about a week ago, but they have not been anywhere near as dark or as thick as this one. Hmmm I don't know what to think!

I have not long come off the pill and I'm trying to track my cycles in preparation of TTC, so while it's not crucial now (did have sex on Saturday morning though so who knows!!) it would just be nice to get a handle on what my body is doing.
