Sparkly You have to be realistic about these things or you end up feeling like a failure when you are actually doing a wonderful job. It starts with pregnancy, everyone has advise to give around birth plans, eating limits, furniture to buy, nappies to use and it continues until everyone realises you will do your own thing and shuts up or you just pull yourself away from these opinionated people.

I would say to all who want a realistic view on motherhood go and read the blogs of the ladies on mylifesuckers.com and their videos on youtube if you can too - they have me and DP in stitches! especially the parodies.

Sorry being useless again as at work onb phone so can't reply nicely. But this talk of temperatures reminds me mine havent dropped to my pre ovulation temps of last month... am I just hotter this month?

Sparkly123 · 06/03/2015 15:17

Ha thanks Tessie we will see! Hopefully soon!! Wink oh and I was forgetting about you living abroad! Glad you got it sorted!

Sparkly123 · 06/03/2015 15:19

mummy sounds like very good advice! Flowers

GotTheKey · 06/03/2015 15:42

Hi ladies.. Update from me. Have decided against doing a CB as I have read they aren't as sensitive at this point.
I did another Superdrug as you can see in attached photo. The line is darker! X

Spinning so sorry for your loss xx

Riceicle1 · 06/03/2015 15:44

Thanks for the nice words sparkly Flowers speaking of age gaps I am 20 years older than my sisters! And my children's age gaps are quite largish I have one 19, then 11, then 9 then 4, I enjoyed spacing them out and they all get on nicely! (Most of the time)
My frantic knicker watching has just unearthed brown discharge so I'm def out this month.Sad but at least I can turn back into a sane human being! We can't try next month as inconsiderate bast@&*dh is away at a golf tournament at the crucial time, but I shall lurk on the busses to see how you all are Wine tonight!

Riceicle1 · 06/03/2015 15:45

Congratulations got Flowers

TrixieRay · 06/03/2015 16:01

Grr, work is completely getting in the way of obsessing over whether I oved or not.

Thanks Tessie! I was pretty stressed at the beginning of January but like with your travel, I wouldn't have thought that would affect this cycle. I've been 2 weeks late before when we bought our house whilst we were planning our wedding- very stressful! Last year when I had an especially stressful time at work I was over a week early. The only thing I can think of this month for me is taking Maca/Co Enzyme though a lot of people take them without their cycle being effected, or like you say, it is just one of those things.

I only temped for 4 days from CD18 to see what was going on and got a temp above my usual cover line, then 3 high temps so I figured I must have oved and missed it! Had my usual pre AF signs - and based on those was expecting AF on Wednesday. Started temping this week and again temp above cover line followed by three high (though one was after a few drinks)

Beautiful photo Spinning! Your poor uncle, and his sons losing their father at such a young age. I hope your family get some answers.

Ideally I would have liked to have a gap of a couple of years between children but given that it is taking a while for the first one I think we are going to have to get cracking on the second pretty quickly! Unless we are lucky enough to have twins of course Smile

spinningirl10 · 06/03/2015 16:05

Got thereby, Many Congratulations to youSmile

Riceicle, I hope your Mums op went ok today. You have the same sort of age gap as me with your 19 and 9 year old!

spinningirl10 · 06/03/2015 16:06

Sorry that was supposed to say gotthekey, bloody auto correct!

KnitFastDieWarm · 06/03/2015 16:29

Hello all Smile

It's actually HOT in my office for the first time in about 6 months. I can't remove my sweater because I am only wearing a bra underneath and I don't think my very sweet and mild-mannered male colleague opposite would know where to look Grin

If I got a positive ov test on Monday, does that count as ovulation day? So I'd now be 4dpo? I'm confused because I knwo that all a positive ov test means is that you will probably ovulate in the next 24 to 48 hours?

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 16:30

Spinning, much love and strength to you and your poor mum Thanks Your uncle's problems sounded horrible and it must've been awful to live with that serious weight loss and no diagnosis. I hope you and the family find peace soon.

Sorry for all the horrid AF's Sad

Congratulations to you, Gotthekey!

Heir, sorry the blood-taking was tortuous. I do so hope the results are good.

I'm CD8 today and so started temping (sigh). I'm hoping to ov on CD15 (like I always have done pre-Clomid) and so AI will commence CD13 and no sooner! I've been struggling to fancy DH for quite some time now (since he lost his job and is under the feet 24/7, but it's more likely to be linked to my depression) but today he got his new reading glasses and looks so handsome in them. This makes me happy Smile

Do feel free to come and share your periods of not fancying your partners so that I don't feel inadequate Grin

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 16:35

Who asked about Nancy's sleeping? Was it you, dojo and nomio? Thank you, she woke with a scary banshee wail last night was clearly the result of a nightmare, but we managed to send her back to Slumberland with only five renditions of This Old Man... Hmm

I have a christening to attend on Sunday (one of my bezzie mate's daughter) and I am absolutely dreading it. I know it's the depression making me so reticent but the thought of having to actually mingle and be among lots of ex-lapdancing friends who I haven't seen for seven years fills me with dread. I look dreadful, too, with painful scratchy zits all over my forehead (I never have zits) which I keep picking whenever I am anxious. I don't want to go. I don't want to go Sad

PurdeyBirdie · 06/03/2015 16:38

Knit, not at all. The pos opk means you will ov, like you say, within 24-36 hours so it will be the day after that which is 1dpo. I would guess you are currently 2-3dpo.

Sparkly123 · 06/03/2015 16:39

Knit do you temp? It's kinda impossible to know actual OV day unless you are and see the temps spike. I sometimes OV three days after a positive OPK!

Purdey hi lovely, I'm glad your dh is doing it for you today!! Wink CD 13 sounds like a good plan- not peaking too early unlike us Hmm this could be a good month with you, no clomid just wonderful you au-naturale! My struggle with my dh is- I love him, so much. But it's very difficult at times going between him being my carer at times he needs to be- to being my lover!.. It's a difficult situation to cruise between. But we get there.

My update is CD 18.. And 9th day of AI in a row!!! I think Tomor is the start of my TWW.. I think we've done enough now! Will see how temp goes Tomor! Here's my chart

loopylou1984 · 06/03/2015 17:00

Again so much to catch up on! Will use the lap top later to do it!
Purdey thanks, your post made me well up at my desk (but thankfully recovered before anyone noticed!). I found out we have to have been ttc for 2 years here to be entitled to 1 IVF plus up to two frozen tries. Does anyone know how these rules apply to IUI? Is there a specific wait period or can you have that straight away?

Also, tmi question but here it goes. Af has been weird this cycle. Had watery brown discharge day 1 (which I never get), quite heavy flo day 2, light day 3 and now pretty much nothing, why???! I mean I'm not complaining but it's a little worrying.... Surely there can't be enough lining for implantation to happen? Xx

loopylou1984 · 06/03/2015 17:01

Ps. Purdey meant to say how much I appreciate all your help, and offer to hold my hand, I think I'll need it! Xx

Sparkly123 · 06/03/2015 17:13

Sammy hi lovely. I can't help re IUI as my local NHS service don't even offer IUI anymore as they said success rates are so low at only 12%.. I don't get that, surely it's more successful that what I'm doing with AI?! I hope someone else can help you. Re your AF.. Is it usually much longer? You def have a bfn yes? Maybe it's just one off cycle? Oh and don't you be worrying- we will all be holding your hand GrinFlowers

juneybean · 06/03/2015 17:21

The problem with IUI is sperm has to be washed regardless of whether it's fresh or frozen and washing it rips it of its nutrients thus lowering how long it lasts. For example frozen washed sperm only lives 6-12 hours and with an egg only lasting 14 hours that's a pretty narrow window. Which is why shagging/AIing probably is better success rates

tessiegirl · 06/03/2015 17:22

Grrrrr just somehow managed to tip raw chicken juice all over myself and slippers...nice

Sorry you are not looking forward to the christening on Sunday Purdey Is it an all day thing? The black dog really distorts the way we view ourselves and I am positive you don't look dreadful at all!!!

loopylou1984 · 06/03/2015 17:24

That doesn't make any sense sparkly, - I thought that with iui the sperm were washed and only the good ones put in... Which surely would be a bonus?

Well I haven't poas but my temp dropped and the cramps were awful, plus my sore boobs have gone now so pretty sure I'm not pg. it's normally a bit heavier yeah, the light day two was only just a little more than spotting really. Hopefully you're right and it's just an odd cycle. Xx

mummyofonesofar · 06/03/2015 17:25

Sammy mine has been weird too. Medium 1 day then light yesterday and today it's hardly worth the tampon!

loopylou1984 · 06/03/2015 17:26

What does it mean mummyofone?! Lol.
Thanks Juney, I don't really know much about iui - it's useful to gain bits of knowledge! Xx

Sparkly123 · 06/03/2015 17:30

Juney the queen of the IUI, ah of course.. I see! Thanks for that info! How annoying!!i thought much like Sammy that the fact that they washed it gave those spermies a better chance!
