TMI - Brown mucus 3-4 days before AF - TTC 8 months

Been TTC for 8 months and losing the will! Been doing OPKs so know I'm ovulating, taking vitamins, cut back alcohol etc etc. Also recently started reflexology sessions.

Recently questioning whether it could be something to do with my CM.

I get a pale browny mucus 3-4 days prior to AF arriving. I then count day 1 from my first day of heavy flow. I've been reading online (I know....I try not to as it drives me mad!) that AF should have a clear start and a clear end. I've also read it could be a sign of lack of progesterone. I've also then read it could be sign of cervical cancer!

Does anyone else have this? I feel stupid going to my GP as I know you're supposed to wait until until you've been trying for 12 months and he's not the most understanding at the best of times.

I don't have a clear start or finish with my periods. I don't spot as such but it starts light, gets heavy for two three days then tails off.

Having positive opk's and regular periods does not mean you are ovulating sadly. We had to have clomid in the end to conceive to help our eggs be mature enough.

Yes it's possibly progesterone related. Do you use a special fertility thermometer from boots? You can chart first thing and then look back on the month. That would give a good visual quickly and done insight. Alternatively ask your GP for a day 21 progesterone test to confirm that things are ok.

I charted for a few months with a bbt thermometer but gave up because I was over thinking things. One month I had the 'perfect' text book chart but still got my AF. My chart showed all the things I understood it was supposed to and it calculated ovulation in line with my OPK and my symptoms of ovulation?!

I had positive opk's, cervical mucus, regular periods, temperature charts jumped up after ovulation but still my eggs weren't quite mature enough. The high post ovulation temp needed to be a little higher and not drop off so quickly. It's likely that you are totally fine but it would be a good idea to ask for a day 21 progesterone test if you have any concerns or reach one year of TTC

That was December and January, we then had a month off and have started temping again this month. This month FF said I ovulated day 14, I had a three day very slight gradual rise but now I've dipped again :(
