DH and I are not TTC, but after coming off the pill we have been using the withdrawal method (I know it's not a "real" method, but if I fell pregnant now, we would be happy if a bit ahead of schedule). I use an app to keep track of my cycles, which have been almost 100% regular since stopping the pill. So sometimes we don't use the, ahem, method, as long as it's way past ovulation. So far so good.

Last Sunday (so 8 days ago) we dtd unprotected non-withdrawal, as it

Oops posted too soon, stupid phone.

So last Sunday we dtd which I thought would be fine as it was a couple of dpo. Then a few days ago I started being able to smell literally everything, and felt a bit sick on and off - felt fine the last couple of days though. Last night and this morning I've also had some very light brown stained discharge.

Normally I would think nothing of it, but I'm having a general anaesthetic for dental surgery tomorrow. I would just buy a test tonight to check, but if it's only 8 days past dtd, surely it won't show positive this early either way?

I got a faint positive at 9dpo so do it first thing in the morning with your first wee of the day.

Well if you were tracking and only non-w when you know you're not ovulating, it seems highly unlikely. As does a positive pregnancy test at tjis stage.
A GA isn't a problem even if you were pregnant though.
