I can't read this test (pic) and I'm panicking

Please please be voices of sanity. I'm currently unable to read the result because I can't make sense of it. The last time I did a poundland test there were no lines, just like in the pic on the instructions. Now I'm second guessing myself. Was my line free test a dud?

I don't understand and I'm panicking.

Looks like it might be over saturated? Have you got another you can try?

DrEllieSattler · 02/03/2015 08:22

I'm going to buy a different brand today. I know I'm looking for a sensitive test like the poundland one.

Over saturated? Stupid thing didn't fall in. Ok. Dud result?
Is the big pink line at the top how the test should be anyway?

If it's any help, that looks like the cheapies I get off the internet (I can't use hormonal contraception anymore and have an irregular cycle so I get paranoid) you should get a control line and a test line. Your second pic is a negative test. If you had a test with absolutely no lines, it was a dud. If they are anything like my cheapies.

I think I love you just a little bit Lady

Your instructions say one coloured line is negative? What am I missing?

flanjabelle · 02/03/2015 08:25

That is a negative test. The line you can see is the control line, just to show the test has worked. If you were pregnant there would be another coloured line, so two rather than one.

DrEllieSattler · 02/03/2015 08:26

You may have guessed that DP and I really really aren't trying. My implant expired 2 weeks before it was removed (my responsibility and I'm gutted) and now I'm hormone free and I'm paranoid about those 2 weeks (4 weeks ago)

It's It's a negative. Sorry man.

gamerchick · 02/03/2015 08:27

Or phew depending on how you feel Grin

LadyRainicorn · 02/03/2015 08:28

That's fine DrEllie, I know the Fear. I definitely think they're like my internet ones (£7.50 for 50 btw paranioa for cheap)after turning my phone upside down to read your ininstructions

wickedlazy · 02/03/2015 08:29

Looks negative to me. Control line but no postitive line.

wickedlazy · 02/03/2015 08:29

*positive

DrEllieSattler · 02/03/2015 08:29

All you've missed is that I'm seeing things. And crying. A lot.

It was so different from the last test I took from there that I panicked and my brain screamed "positive" and my DP said he didn't think so. And then googling negative / positive examples just added fuel to my paranoia.

Thank you for being voices of sanity
