Just a quick Q. Obviously am TTC and my CM seems to be very, er, scant.

Anyone else in this age group experiencing similar? Have been on the pill for donkey's years so not sure if that meant I wouldn't have any then, but just realising it's been a long time since I remember seeing much.

I remember seeing LOADS once when younger and obviously at the time, I had no idea what it meant and remember thinking what the heck was that?!

Those days seem like a distant memory now - and I almost need to get the magnifying glass out when inspecting undergarments.

Any similar experiences, or advice on how to improve this situ?

Do t have the same problem but hear that pre-seed is good for issues like this

Also, have you tried volition predictor sticks to check you are deffo ovulating?

DareGreatly · 19/02/2015 21:21

Thanks , I haven't tried either yet. I thought I'd go down the OPK routes after a few more months but maybe I should get going with that. Will also look into preseed.

Can I just ask, with EWCM does it always stretch out by a couple of centimetres at least? Mine is managing millimetres at best!

I would definitely try OPKs - you may as well find out now if you are ovulating or not.

Re: EWCM. Can only speak from experience but it should be quite stretchy. However, I have no medical training whatsoever at all. Grin

Ewcm definitely stretchy and slippery. Just like egg white! Or like very clear stretchy snot (ugh)
Do you drink plenty of water? That could help.

DareGreatly · 19/02/2015 22:18

Hi all

Hmm, thanks - bit worried now. I tend to drink loads of water.

And yes - that's how I remembered EWCM being in my 20s.

Time for a trip to the doc soon too maybe.

I have found that taking evening primrose oil has increases my EWCM only take it before ovulation so would use OPK's

DareGreatly · 19/02/2015 23:29

Thanks bygones80, I haven't tried that - I will do!

Hello Dare I used to have loads of CM when on the pill, but practically nothing now. I have very low progesterone, so perhaps that is the cause. We use conceive plus, but I doubt that alone will be sufficient to compensate. No point in worrying for me as have post pill amenorrhea anyway and on long NHS waiting list for treatment. My GP did day that lots of CM is a 'side effect' of thd pill, but I've never heard that before!

Hi Dare, I'm TTC #2 and I'm (just) 41.. I've been TTC for over a year and have found the same issue with my CM. In fact by the time I ov it has nearly dried up completely. I have been doing accupuncture for 6 weeks now and this month was the first time there was A LOT of EWCM and it lasted for almost 24 hours.. I think drinking lots of water and the other stuff helps too...
Accupuncture is very expensive as you need to do it for a while before you see the affect, but I'm feeling positive about this cycle.. a week until poas...

Hi Moomin - I wonder about the low progesterone as I also get brown spotting before a period and I've read on here that low progesterone might be a cause. Am wondering if agnus castus might help.

ABroads thanks for the tip about acupuncture - I'm considering that too as I've had it before for another issue and just found it really relaxing (which is also good). Thanks for the reminder to look it up!
