Thanks. I don't really feel like the first two weeks counted as I was just waiting for the operation...I wish it had happened faster. My work has this silly rule though where if you're off for two separate days non consecutively that counts as two absences. If you're off for 8 weeks in one block counts as one absence. Guess which one gets you a disciplinary Hmm
Theoretically I could've gone back in between and then taken time off after the erpc but I would actually get in more trouble for that.
I don't like my job at all either and was just suffering through it until mat leave so it seems even more bleak going back Not pregnant with no end point Sad
reverse hopefully tomorrow will bring a darker line

chasingtherainbow · 18/02/2015 14:13

You only need to be employed 1 week before conception, so I think that's quite handy to know to qualify for mat pay..life is too short to hate your job that much xxxx

I worked through my mc and optopic treatment. Completely nuts and some would consider it stupid. I'd have like lots of time off to recover but my job just doesn't work like that. I took 1 day off (should have been two but I ended up making it up two days later as they had an emergency)

I'm looking forward to mat leave and I'm ploughing money away so I can stay off even longer next time around (15 odd months last time.. I stopped work at 33 weeks and I had 7 weeks of blissful chilling before she came and went back when she was 14 mo) I hope to be a SAHM for 2 years next time.

Romeolovesjuliet · 18/02/2015 14:30

chasing I didn't take time off either although I only work 3 days so that helped. After being in A&E there was no way I was well enough to go in but I just worked from home. It was much easier than trying to explain things to my very nosy but unsympathetic boss.
brickie hope you get a negative soon, I'm waiting for mine too and it's horrible.

Amyyy27 · 18/02/2015 14:43

Chasing that's great to know thanks!xx

thanks genni me too, although we can all hope to get our BFPs straight away, they are never guaranteed and we can't put our lives on hold forever x

Well a big sigh of relief from me! Just came back from a gastro check up for my coeliac disease and although the cheeky get pulled me up on gaining weight he put my mind at rest for not being to blame for losing my baby. Can't tell you all what a weight off my mind that is, I have totally blamed myself and ignored every person who told me it would just be 'one of those things that happens' aka chromosomal abnormalities. He also told me my coeliac disease should not affect my fertility either so fx!

chasingtherainbow · 18/02/2015 14:43

It'd hard isn't it! I didn't tell the whole truth and just said their was a mass on my ovary and left it at that. Even a whiff of pregnancy would have seen me out the door in a month I reckon. Harsh but true. I won't be telling them till I'm as sure as can be that the pregnancy is "safe" next time.

Romeolovesjuliet · 18/02/2015 14:54

Agree chasing, I said I had been in hospital but was very vague as to why. I only came back from last mat leave in nov so couldn't risk them knowing another baby might be on the cards. Plus, it's a very personal thing and none of their business!

chasingtherainbow · 18/02/2015 14:56

There. Not their.

Jeez I am all over the shop today.

Is it bed time yet!?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 18/02/2015 16:41

I'm so lucky with my boss. I told him about the mc and he sent me some flowers. I also told him recently that I'm concerned about the job security issue because I'm ttc so am thinking about going for other, more secure jobs. He said he would absolutely guarantee that I don't get left pregnant and unemployed and he would just make sure he found some money from another budget. Such a good guy. All bosses should be like that.

That sounds awful the way some of your bosses/employers handle sick leave and pregnancy. How can you be disciplined for a genuine medical problem??? That is appalling IMHO. I am lucky that my colleagues have been great. I chose to tell a small number of people, as we are pretty close and I can trust them not to gossip. Plus it has been nice to have some support when I went back to work. I was off for 2 weeks, one week before and one week after the erpc. It felt quite soon to go back, but I needed to as I was going a bit stir-crazy in the house and needed to focus on other things for my own sanity. Everyone is different though, and the main thing is not to feel rushed at going back to work.

Brickie - here's hoping for your bfn soon x

gennibugs · 18/02/2015 18:12

Wow some bosses are just mean. I told my boss and luckily he has been supportive, I hate my job but I can't blame it on him in anyway if I'm honest. The rest of my team don't know and I wouldn't want them to as they aren't the most supportive bunch. They obviously know I've been signed off but not why. Which is fine by me!

Cinnamon84 · 18/02/2015 19:06

Hi everyone,

Cautiously dipping my toe in after a miscarriage at the end of last month. Hope you're all doing ok.
I really want to start ttc soon but have a big holiday coming up so dp wants to wait. Currently waiting for first af, I didn't seem to bleed a huge amount during the mc so am worried it's going to be a horrendously heavy one.

Hi brickie, I'm joining you from other threads. How are you doing?

Ive quickly read through some of the other posts and it looks like there are some bfps so congratulations!

Xx

Cinnamon84 · 18/02/2015 19:07

And guybrush too, hi, didn't see you there.
Hope everything's ok with you

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 18/02/2015 19:10

Hey cinnamon, how are you doing?

Cinnamon84 · 18/02/2015 19:23

I'm ok thanks, feeling a bit more normal now I'm back at work. I just saw a conversation on this thread about when to go back. I took 2 weeks off, I'm not keen on my job either and dreaded going back- my manager knew but no one else did. There's one really nosy bloke who asks so many personal and inappropriate questions I'd decided I'd say I was off with a bad kidney infection which people seemed to believe, if that helps anyone x

ponyponypony · 18/02/2015 21:07

Sad to be joining you here, but glad I have found people I can relate to. I'm 33, OH 31. TTC#1 for 4+yrs, with 2MMC. I found out about the latest at a 'reassurance' (oh the irony..!) scan on Feb 1st but only just got it all done with at the end of last week. I'm still on sick leave as it's all been a bit traumatic with two failed attempts at medical management and my job is super emotionally/physically draining and my GP agreed I should take my time going back. I still got BFP when I tested last night which was a bit galling :( but hoping to get back on the ttc bus asap. I know emotionally I'm still fragile and it would probably break me to have another mc again soon, but it seems like the only way I'll feel better is to be pregnant again. :( The wonderful nurses at EPU referred us to see an obstetrics consultant in May so have that to look forwards to (!!). Oh, and I booked a feck off redic expensive holiday for July/August too. Pah!

Gr33dyeggs · 18/02/2015 21:14

Hi cinnamon & pony.
Sorry you're here, but welcome.

I've been looking through the chat pages and there are some brutal people on them aren't there?! Must revise anyway, exam only a week away. Eek.
How do you -crossout- ? I found bold by accident.

Paigesmummy89 · 18/02/2015 21:16

chasingtherainbow · 18/02/2015 21:48

paige is that a pregnancy test?

In the pic of test 1 and both together, I can see a shadow of a line on both but no pink. I'm not saying there's nothing there. . But if it is its v early for it not to be darker on those cheapy 10mui ones. Perhaps give it 3/4 days to allow hcg to double and show on a first response. X

chasingtherainbow · 18/02/2015 21:48

Also I know how hard it is to capture so possibly just the photos. X

ponyponypony · 18/02/2015 21:59

Paige - Those blue ICs drove me bonkers when I got my last BFP, I convinced myself that if I squinted/held it against a white background/in the right light/did a handstand etc I could see a second line but I couldn't see it on a photo. I must've done 10 tests over the course of about 2 days. Blush Gave in and bought a clearblue digital and lo and behold a clear BFP. So yeah, I can't see a line in your photo but I wouldn't read too much into that. Maybe wait a day or two and then test again or keep testing like a madwoman.

Paigesmummy89 · 18/02/2015 22:14

Hey thanks girls it's sooo frustrating I can see them more when there not in the photo, I got my friend to do one and she's deffently not pregnant and there was no line not even a evap one and when i look I can see a line. I'm going to get clear blue digital tests Tomo and see , the fact that I know Iv ovoulated this months made it worse as I haven't ovo in years well at least since I've had my daughter. I really don't jo what to think xx

chasingtherainbow · 18/02/2015 22:31

Don't get a digi.. get a first response. I think the digi won't be sensitive enough to pick it up yet. Keep positive and keep us updated. Good luck!

Paigesmummy89 · 18/02/2015 22:34

Will do thanks Hun x

Paigesmummy89 · 18/02/2015 22:43

I've just completly messed up my dates I'm due on Monday so I ovoulated 9 days ago x

ReverseTheTrend · 19/02/2015 06:37

Hi Paige, mine looked like that last Fri, used a digi on Sat and got a BFN, but by Tuesday was getting a good clear BFP on tesco
