I went to the doctors today so it's all official and I'm in the system. Was all psyched up to push for an early scan but she actually brought it up first and said she'd cobtact the EPU but it might depend on how busy they were of the were willing to see me.
By the time I got home she'd lest an answerphone message with an appointment for 10th March when be 6+5. Will be holding my breath till then.

North that's excellent news about your scan. I had one at 6wks with dd and saw her flickey littke heart. Precious. Enjoy every second.

Seems I am having a shit week but cut a long story short I am having a month off TTC. First one since Oct 13 except when I've been upduffed. Think its freaking me out more right now cos I might be ov ing. Or not as my crazy head thinks. Failed to arrange some counselling today ... Epically... but have contacted an acupuncturist and am booked in to Coventry's implantation clinic next week to help me feel like I am taking steps to prevent any future losses.

I want to hear more news of bfps! Lots of them.

Do you guys know how soon they'll scan me when I get my next bfp?

If I catch this month.. We will be going away at 6+3. I'm a. It anxious about this and really want to know (as much as one can at any given point in pregnancy) that everything is ok. I'm happy to fork out for a private scan but from dd pregnancy I know I'll get my money worth at 9+ weeks. . Though I know I'd love that flashy little dot at 6 wks too, it's a lot to pay out so early.

I'd love to get a scan just before we leave as we'll be with dh family and it'd be nice to tell them that we have another shot at dc2.

chasing i would love to know too if you find out. I have had one mc and have a feeling the nhs wont give you a reassurance scan unless you have had more than one or had difficulties with the last one etc. I would be happy to pay too although no idea where to start!

chasing I think EPUs will scan about 6 weeks. I had early scans with DD because of bleeding - one at just past 5 wks then every 10 days ish until 11 wks. I think you would get a referral with your history if you push a little.
So, finally got a neg test this morning. Left It on the side for half an hr while I got ready for work and nothing appeared so confident that's it. But bleeding is heavy like first day of period today - previously I would get some then nothing for hours. I think it's my period - is it possible body would have gone straight to it with no gap in bleeding once it realised I'm not pregnant anymore?

Chasing haven't you had a previous ectopic? I would have thought they might scan you really early- 6+2 would be fine, although you would have to be aware that there is no guarantee of seeing the heartbeat that early (although I did with dd) and not panic if there isn't a visible one yet. It would confirm that it's in the right place though.
For a normal reassurance scan that you pay for, I think I'll go for about 8 weeks next time. Early enough so that I will be desperate for some reassurance by then but late enough so that everything should look clear.
It's really hard to know. I think I will definitely have one next time though or I will go insane.

Chasing my doctor said when I get pg again they will give me an early scan, it probably depends on your area though.

Did another test this morning - BFN. I'm on CD34 now. Keep waking up with the taste of cigarettes in my mouth which is really weird (no-one I know smokes!) so I thought maybe it was a symptom but I'm probably just a bit dehydrated.

Chasing the hospital told me I wouldn't get an early scan. It wouldn't have made much difference though as I would have seen a healthy pregnancy until 9 weeks. With your history, I'd hot foot it to your GP as soon as you know and push for a scan to check it's all in the right place.

Romeo I really hope it's your period. With these things it seems anything is possible. If you have a BFN then it's doubtful that the heavier bleeding is from the MC. I hope it's stops in a few days so that your sure it is your period and you can start a new cycle. Everything crossed for you!

Chasing - I'm fairly sure the NICE guidelines say that after an ectopic you should be able to self-refer yourself to an EPU for an early scan next time round, so you should definitely be offered one. As far as timings are concerned, I was told they would scan to check it wasn't an ectopic from 5 weeks, although I'm conscious that you might not see a hearbeat until slightly later. I really hope this is your month.

Morning all!

So CD32, 4 days late and 2 x BFNs this morning. 1 on a FRER and 1 on a clearblue (just in case). Usually I would shrug this off and think well AF is imminent and just get on with things but my body is literally screaming that it is pregnant... Seriously, everything is the same as October when I first conceived and I'm always as regular as clockwork.

I know it's still kinda early days BUT I'm now worrying what if it just isn't showing up in my urine... I've read that this has happened to SO many women... How long do I leave it before I go to the doctors and ask for a blood test? And then if the doctor's say wait until I miss another period, for blood tests or a scan to see what's going on, that's going to be 8 weeks before I get any kind of hint as to what's going on or confirmation. I'd rather just book a private scan so I know one way or the other, but then will the private scan clinic scan me if I haven't had my pregnancy 'doctor confirmed'.

Apologies for rambling, I know I sound like a mad woman and am thinking WAY too far ahead but I can't help it. I've stayed calm til this point and my patience is starting to wear thin. Seriously, what would you do? Am open to any suggestions as I don't know what the next step is...

Teenie I know it's hard and frustrating but I'd give it another two weeks. I'm also like clock work, 29 day cycle and ovulate on day 15. I had my MMC at the end of October, had one normal cycle in December but the January cycle I was 12 days late! It's never happened before other than when I was pregnant, my body was showing all the right signs and I was even being sick!

I am absolutely not saying your not pregnant, I know plenty of women who didn't get their BFP until a week or late so for now, I think you just need to wait. Women who have it not show up in their urine are women who struggle to produce the pregnancy hormone needed for it. I'm guessing you've had positive test in the past? I have so I knew I could get a positive urine test.

Yes I think given my last eptopic I probably have a good chance of getting an early scan I hope. Totally getting ahead of myself.

Teenie that's really weird! Is it possible you ovulated late and so not showing yet?

Thanks haribo. I spoke to the hospital and they said it could be my period as I'm almost 5 wks post mc but to call them if it doesn't settle in normal time frame or if I'm concerned. I'm counting this as cd1 though for now.
Reassurance scans - we will def have one next time. Didn't bother with DS or last pregnancy as I had lots of scans with DD but found they only reassured me for the time I was being scanned! And this time the baby didn't stop growing until about 8+3 so I could have easily had a scan and thought everything was ok. But I couldn't go through what I have just been through again so I will have one prob around 9wks next time but treat it very much as things look ok for now, not as a guarantee.
teenie I'm sorry things are so frustrating but I agree with haribo, think you just have to wait it out a bit longer

Thanks Haribo and of course I know you're completely right and talking sense. I've heard cycles can 'reset' after a m/c and may take a while to settle down. The common sense side of my head keeps telling me this, I guess I just thought I was doing away ok, but today I just want to cry. I know I'm clutching at the 'not showing on a test' because I'm so confused as to what's going on with my body... I feel something's happening and the other time I've felt like this is the month I conceived. And of course now that I'm saying this out loud to my OH and writing it down on this thread I'm terrified everyone is going to think it's in my head and I'm the woman that cries pregnancy every month... And that's really not who I am...
