Negative test but period late...

Am a day late for AF but test is showing negative....
Is there still any hope?! Never been late before but the preg test boxes all bang on about 99% accuracy. Did do test last thing at night which I since understand is prob the worst time to do it.
Am I being silly to hold out hope??

I had blood test on day 21 to confirm I ovulated but didn't test positive until 10 days late. Many many negative tests in between. Don't give up hope just yet.

I'm a week late and only got a faint but clear bfp today - two previous test were negative. Fingers crossed!

I feel like I might be being crazy to be holding out hope, but on the other hand it IS strange...

One day late is nothing. I'd relax and really try my to think about it, i
wait a week fir the river to flow.
If still a no show, test again

Once, I convinced myself I was pregnant, got all excited when I missed my period, tested every fee days. Bfn :(
Got all a bit anxious about it all, and period came two weeks late as a result!

Best of luck! Try not to get hopes up- I had a 40d period when trying to conceive. Went out of my mind! Loads of neg tests until bld test neg them got my period! I clung onto stories of other people being positive but wanted you to have other side of story! Don't lose hope though- Am now proud mum of 4mo dd!

I did a test which was negative, I was a day or two late. I waited 5 days and did another. The result of that negative test is now 13 and still in bed. We had been trying for 5 months and I knew I was pregnant, I didn't believe the first test.

At my dating scan, my due date given was a week later than I had calculated, I was told I could have conceived later in my cycle rather than in the middle so possibly didn't have strong enough pregnancy hormones when I did the first test. She ended up being 11 days late by my dates and 4 days by the scan dates.

I am on my tww for dc2, with ds1 I was 3 weeks late before a bfp.
Was very stressful
When I had a mmc the first time I got a bfp 3 days before AF was due.
So this time I'm not going to test until im a good 2 weeks late or I'm throwing up Wink

I am usually regular as clockwork (28 day cycle) but recently I was late. The only times I have ever been late is when I am pregnant. Tested - BFN. Period was two weeks one day late and I tested every other day in between.

I vaguely remembered a small amount EWCM not long before I was due on, which I thought was odd. Now I realise I must have ovulated very late (like after 28 days instead of the usual 14-15).

So, you might not be pregnant now or if you have ovulated very late (and have done the deed recently) you might be literally a few days pregnant. If you haven't had unprotected sex in the last 12 days then it's highly likely you are not pregnant as most tests would be showing a pregnancy by now.

Those who say they took weeks to get a positive test don't realise that they were probably becoming pregnant due to late ovulation as they were testing, not that it was somehow "hiding". Pregnancy chemicals don
't "hide" from a test.

So if you haven't had unprotected sex in the last 12 days, you are unlikely to be pregnant. If you have, then a pregnancy might reveal itself in the next few weeks.

I presumed I ovulated late when I got pregnant with ds1. It did mean he was conceived the day after we got married not a week or so before as that when I thought I was ovulating. Grin

Thanks all for your replies. So good to hear other people having the same experiences.
It's just the limbo thing which is the worst...if AF just appeared at least I could draw a line and start again. I reckon I was totally wrong on the ovulation point. Its all this waiting around which is the killer, not to mention my cycle is fairly long anyway (32 days) so now on 34...ugh...

Best of luck stmary! I got a very faint bfp this morning, period was two days late, absolutely no line on the day my period was due though

Thanks...still nothing. Another BFN. UGH, the limbo lark is just the worst. I am actually willing on AF to just get the inevitable over with and move on...
