A friendly and welcoming thread full of lovely women.

Try not to think like that Sammy. I know how hard it is. Maybe give yourself next month off. Eighteen months is a long time to be carrying this kind of pressure. If you have spare cash, maybe see if you can get a night away somewhere. I think a little break would do you good.

It will happen for you, one way or the other, but you have to look after yourself at the same time. Flowers

Teagan007 · 30/03/2015 08:27

Sammy, I think what Lemon says is good advice. As an 18 monther myself, having a month off from everything can only do your mind and body good. If I hadn't have moved house, I would have booked an Easter holiday abroad just to escape reality for a while.

If you can't go on holiday, then it may be worth finding a project to do, like diy or redecorating for a distraction.x

loopylou1984 · 30/03/2015 17:22

Thank you both, we're off on holiday on Friday actually so I've got something to look forward to.

I don't feel like I can have a month 'off' because what if that was the month we were meant to get our baby and I missed it? Xx

loopylou1984 · 30/03/2015 18:05

Toes - I saw your name on one of the infertility threads where people were discussing reasons for 'unexplained' infertility and wondered if you'd mind telling me a bit more about the private extra tests you can have done? Sperm tests etc? Xx

TheTravellingLemon · 30/03/2015 19:38

I completely get that and have said the same myself. I think you just have to think if that was the month, then you'll still get your baby. I'm not saying that you have to abstain entirely but maybe when you're away get good and drunk a few times and don't chart or anything, just relax and enjoy it. Flowers

TrixieRay · 31/03/2015 14:34

Oh Sammy, sorry to hear about your temp drop Flowers it will happen for all of us one way or another it is just crap that it is taking so long.
So glad you have a holiday to look forward to, I hope you have a lovely time. Hopefully your appointment will give you some reassurance.

loopylou1984 · 31/03/2015 18:31

Thanks Trixie and lemon, af is here now so at least it'll be almost over by the time we leave for holiday on Friday!

Just re read the hospital letter (to my gp) and it say the next step will be HyCoSy - eek! X

St4rfish · 01/04/2015 18:34

Hi Sammy, just read that you were feeling down, so sorry. I'm past the four year mark of TTC here and I can vouch for the above comments about backing off from the pressure of temping, ovulation tests etc. Even though it didn't make any difference for us, it did help my headspace and my relationship (it was ruining our sex life!) Hope you have a lovely holiday x

loopylou1984 · 02/04/2015 21:06

Thank you st4r. We're going tomorrow and I'm not taking my thermometer or any opks, so trying to relax. X

TheTravellingLemon · 02/04/2015 21:23

Good for you. Have a fab time sammy.

Teagan007 · 02/04/2015 21:42

Have a great time sammy! Will be thinking of you enjoying yourself as I'm lost amongst my many mountains of cardboard boxes which will keep me busy for the next....well, I can't see an end in sight yet?!

TrixieRay · 02/04/2015 22:04

Have a brilliant time Sammy, I think a holiday and a break from temping/opks will do you the world of good.

Good luck with all the boxes Teagan!

St4r how are things with you?

Have a lovely Easter everyone Easter Smile

TheTravellingLemon · 12/04/2015 14:37

I hope everyone had a happy easter. How was your holiday Sammy?

Let's not let this thread die. It would be a shame Flowers

loopylou1984 · 12/04/2015 20:50

Yes please don't let it die, I need this thread, I have 2 appointments coming up!

Holiday was fab thank you lemon, how are you? Xx

TheTravellingLemon · 12/04/2015 21:01

Generally good thanks, had some bleeding so I am waiting for an appointment with the early pregnancy assessment unit. It seems to have calmed down now so fingers crossed it will all be ok.

Glad you enjoyed your break. A well earned rest!

Teagan007 · 12/04/2015 21:35

Crikey Lemon, I hope everything is alright. Fingers crossed for you.

Sorry I've been a bit quiet on here but Easter hols started in Nottingham last week, and being as my hubby works in a school, he has been keen to get out, keep busy and keep us entertained so I've hardly had any time at all to catch up with what's been going on online.

Well, Easter Monday bought me to cycle 19 so I phoned and booked my HSG which is now set for Thursday 16th April. I had a dream about the procedure last night and I'm worried that with all the stress of everything that is happening with the house etc, I may be causing myself undue stress. I've started to notice the tell tale signs of mental wear and tear so I've promised myself that after the HSG, I'm going to focus on what I have got and not what I haven't.

I really do hope everyone else's forthcoming appointments go well. xx

TheTravellingLemon · 13/04/2015 16:28

Thank you everyone. Had a scan at the EPU today and everything looked good. Such a massive relief I can't tell you. I balled my eyes when they showed we a heartbeat. I'm not quite as far along as I thought, but that's the PCOS for you. My dates with DS were off too.

Take care of yourself Teagan. We can only cope with so much stress before things start becoming too much. It's good you notice the signs. Take it easy. House stuff is stressful too. We should be done by the end of the first week in May. Can't come quick enough, let me tell you!

EllaBella1 · 13/04/2015 18:11

So blood results are due on Friday for me.hubs was at the Drs today. He has done the referral for hubs. The lab then send him a tub and a drop off time. He does the necessary and then drops off at the lab at the local hospital. Pretty painless I thought as he can do it at home. Now just waiting for the pot in the post!

Teagan007 · 13/04/2015 21:32

Glad everything is okay Lemon. Such a relief!

Today I've been exploring my new neighbourhood and my DD and I have had a great day. Focussed on playing with her and doing more of what she wants to do which has payed off as today has been a lovely day (normally I battle with tantrums and tears which have really bought me down of late so this really is a good thing for me).

Hi Bella, glad things are moving for you with tests etc. You been trying for long?

St4rfish · 17/04/2015 19:15

Hi everyone. I can see the thread has been quiet and I apologise for not checking in more frequently. Hope everyone had a good Easter. Lemon I'm glad your scan went well and was the reassurance you needed! Sammy hope you're feeling more positive now that your appointments are getting closer - how long to wait now?

As for me, after my first IVF cycle, I am very, very tentatively in a position to use the P word (I can't even quite bring myself to say it!) Blood test earlier this week indicates that the cycle has worked...now counting down the days to first scan at what will be the 7 week point. Sadly feeling quite flat rather than elated, as previous MMC at 12 weeks is making me very scared that I am going to go for this scan and there will be nothing there like last time.

Don't want this to sound like one of those smug 'I'm just popping back on the thread to rub my BFP in your faces' (you know the ones I mean!) but equally wanted to give those of you on journeys towards treatment a little bit of hope. It's taken us nearly 5 years, and I know I'm not out of the woods yet and this could still all go wrong...but it's funny how now that I'm at this point, in a way I don't regret all the time we have struggled TTC - as it is making me appreciate this moment all the more.

Teagan007 · 18/04/2015 09:30

Oh Star, what positive news! I really hope things work out so that you can finally say the P word!

I've been meaning to update everyone on how my HSG went on Thursday, well, I suffer with cramps when AF is here anyway but to suffer it twice in one month was not pleasant. It was only for one day though so I guess I can live with that. The procedure was ever so clever, they showed me the live x-Ray so I could see my uterus and tubes. All appeared ok but they said the consultant would discuss results with me. Also got to give another blood sample for Prog later in my cycle. Tbh though, as I have got the new house to be worrying about, TTC is at the back of my mind. I'm not going to stop, but then again, I'm happy to be waiting and plodding along.

loopylou1984 · 19/04/2015 08:40

Hi Star, eeek that's so exciting for you Smile

I had my ultrasound on the 16th which the technician implied all looked normal but I would have to wait for the official results from the consultant. Got next appointment in 8 days and I'm terrified they'll just fob us off again with 'go try for another 6 months'
We're very seriously considering going privately and then going abroad if we need IVF. Xx

loopylou1984 · 19/04/2015 08:41

Teagan - I think I'll be having hsg next, I'm scared it's going to hurt Hmm

Teagan007 · 19/04/2015 12:11

Sammy, the actual procedure is just like having a smear test. It's uncomfortable but not painful. Afterwards though, they do say you may experience cramping like period pain...and I did. It really left me feeling like I was on my period and I've been spotting like they said but I felt absolutely fine the next day.

loopylou1984 · 19/04/2015 12:17

Thank you Teagan, how long does the spotting last? Xx
