Do you really think Hun? Even though the test is saying 2-3 weeks?! I have a son who's 3 & miscarried last year it was awful for us so we gave up but a last fling at Christmas (too much drink & emotions!) so now I'm rather confused x

2-3 on the test means 4-5 weeks pregnant, or 2-3 since ovulation from what I understand. But for most women at a couple of weeks after ovulation around the time they are expecting there period the result of 1-2 is normal as this is measuring hcg between 20 and 200.

2-3 indicates a level of between 200 and 2000, which for most women would be in weeks 4 and 5 of pregnancy.

3+ is shown when the level of hcg is over 2000 allegedly but there are numerous women who don't get a 3+ reading till the are past this and 6 or more weeks pregnant. This is because the dilution of the utube sample can vary so much and the tests not accurate.

It is difficult to say what the answer for you is. In theory if preg from your ex in December, then the 3+ result might be expected, but with your more recent encounter of a couple weeks ago, then the result should have been 1-2 usually ( as most wome don't get the 2-3 reading until the end of the 4th week of pregnancy)

So the fact that the tests are so unreliable at dating pregnancy is the difficulty here, and unfortunately it means waiting til your dating scan to see if you can get a more accurate answer?!

Hope that all works out well for you.

It still could be either one. The fact that your levels are rising is good in terms of the pregnancy progressing, and points slightly more to the 17th Jan as being conception day and ovulation day. Making you 5 weeks pregnant now (which would be in keeping with the pregnancy test results). Looks like you ovulated late in the cycle. Do you normally have long menstrual cycles?

There is an outside chance of the 25th Dec, if you ovulated and conceived a week later, but this would be surprising if it were a good progressing pregnancy as you would be 7 weeks pregnant now, but still vaguely possible.

You need to get a dating scan done in 5 weeks time, this will give you a better indication of what the situation is like. Getting a scan before this time will not be helpful, if they say you are measuring behind dates at a scan in 5 weeks, then you need to get a scan two weeks later and see if this then puts you at 12 weeks agreeing with the 17th Jan as ovulation.
