just wondered how early people have had a bfp before and one that was succesful pregnancy not a chemical (sorry don't mean to be insensitive).

i am in the 2ww. ovia says can poas monday but i want to do it tomorrow. i know it wont do any harm to do it tomorrow either way but just wondered if anyone had got a bfp that early before?

Hi gingerbread with DD I got a very faint positive at 8dpo. Last pg (miscarried at 11 weeks) I got a positive at 12dpo so it really can vary Smile

What dpo are you?

gingerbreadmam · 04/02/2015 14:25

i dont know for certain when i ovulated but i think i am 11 dpo. im not good at tracking cycles.

were they very feint or obvious? i so want to test in the morning. not that i really have any symptoms just tiredness (but i am anaemic following mmc) and had a couple of dizzy spells today. fingers crossed!

What does it matter if it was a chemical or not? You can get a 'late' result (14dpo+) and have an early mc, or an early result and have a pregnancy that's fine.
So even if you test now and get a positive, it doesn't mean it'll be a chemical Confused

gingerbreadmam · 04/02/2015 14:44

oh i know it doesnt mean it would be a chemical just i would hate to test early and it be a chemical. sorry i didnt mean to cause any offence.

i have just been through a long drawn out mmc and would hate to build my hopes up for something that wasnt to be again. i dont know much about chemicals and understand there was still a pregnancy there but it usually passes by like an af / unknown which is very different to the experience i had with mmc.

But again, it doesn't matter whether you test early or not, it doesn't mean it will be a mc Hmm
Sorry you had a mmc. Mc at any stage is not nice. Personally I've been through 8 in 16 months. I've tested early, I've tested later, it doesn't matter. I've now been TOLD to test from 7dpo :)

gingerbreadmam · 04/02/2015 15:26

well if i tested eatly and got bfp then what seemed like af came around about the right time following a bfp id be very dissapointed as i would rather be unaware if it were a chemical pregnancy.

i was on a thread the other day where a lady had tested about 6 days eary with a number of bfps then a number of bfns so assumed she had had a chemical pregnancy. i would just rather not know than get my hopes up again for something that was not meant to be altho i know now with pregnancies that there is always that risk.

i am so sorry to hear you have been having a horrible time.

Then you shouldn't test until your af is due really. You've answered your own question

jellypi3 · 04/02/2015 15:33

Don't test until AF is late, then you minimise your chances of detecting a CP (though don't negate them)

gingerbreadmam · 04/02/2015 15:39

i know. i just wondered if it was common to get bfps early and if so how early.

should have really left out the bit about chemicals as you are right in what you are saying. apologies didnt think my first post through properly.

i am still interested to know about bfps ill probably risk it anyway as i just want to know. this is my first cycle after mmc ttc again so i am a bit crazy this time. i already have decided following this cycle i am not going to focus on it anymore.
